As a pure rim protector Omer is #1.
As a defensive player Noah last year was #1.
Tyrus Thomas was never a rim protector or a good defensive player. He fell for way too many pump fakes and fouled too often.

I would say based on strength, mobility, impact....it had to be Asik with Chandler being a little too light like Noah when he was with the Bulls. Asik could intimidate a big Center but also a prime Wade, Lebron many times.

To me Chandler is the most viable candidate for #1. As for Noah, I honestly think he was better defensively in about 2010 than he was last year. Omer was indeed awesome. Kinda small sample size though. Wallace was underrated in year 1.

Thats why I have Wallace as #3.
He was single covering Shaq in out playoffs and the block he had is still a memorable Bulls vignette.
Beating the champs 4-0....stuff dreams are made of.

I would loved to have seen Gilmore in action when he was a Bull, the guy was a physical beast.
During my time, I'd have to say Chandler was the top, even though while he was still a Bull he was still discovering his game.

Why so serious?

The block on shaq was arguably the greatest play in the history of sports.
