Thanks!
I was already checking that and as you said it makes no sense since Jimmy is set as the worst defender of the team by that. (In that list, beside Bairstow  Brooks is still worse)

That lineup is the 7th more used btw.

This season when Pau Gasol and Taj Gibson are starters has 88.3 Opponent Points per Game (It means also Noah is out btw)

I'm not taking all on Noah but in probably the better balanced rotations as result of having 1 of our Centers out

Yes the usual starting 5, but with Gibson in place of Noah, is at 101.6 Def Rtg, pretty good. Gibson and Pau in any 2 man combo, 100.8, even better.

Unfortunately that 5's offense has been no better than that. But 100 minutes is hardly definite, I would try it anyway.

Tay Prince is going to get Bought out.
Bulls should be all over this.

Prince would be a good pick up. He's always been a solid defender and he's still knocking down 3's at a 45% clip. I'd be all over that.

Snell for defending athletic wings, Prince for his length and veteran savvy, McDermott for hopefully offense and fit in MDJ with them at the SF position.

I also think Snell will be a lot better by April and that Snell should be enough for emergency defense especially when you have a Prince, MDJ, Jimmy playing in front of you.

And, if lightening strikes with McDermott, the musical chair rotation at SF might work out based on match-ups.

Article in Vantage Sports discussing how good Snell has been on D lately ( since 12/30). On Ball defense .80 Pts allowed per shot is 8th best of all NBA shooting guards. 34.29% for FG% against is 4th best of all sg's. And is shooting 42.9% from 3PT range during that time period. It appears Tony is improving.

It seems strange since the best defensive lineup according to Defensive Rating involves Pau Gasol - Nikola Mirotic
http://stats.nba.com/team/#!/1610612741 ... /advanced/

It gives up 76 points per 100 possesion

well that 5-man unit (Butler-Dunleavy-Gasol-Hinrich-Mirotic) have only played 47 minutes together. Not a huge sample.

Of the 5-man units that have played 50+ minutes together, the best defensive unit is Butler-Gasol-Gibson-Hinrich-Rose (93.5), followed by Butler-Gasol-Hinrich-Noah-Rose (99.5).

Butler & Hinrich are part of all of the best defensive units (minimum 45 minutes on court as unit). That's not a surprise. It's a little surprising that Gasol is in more of these best defensive units than is Gibson or Noah. But that may be at least in part due to more playing time?
