It doesn't matter if we get Rivers, Robinson or Sessions, we are going to need a defensive SG to make up for our PG.

The return in the aggregate better be really good. Talk about mismanagement of personnel assets. Bullock, as an asset, had trade value previously as there was some interest in him from other teams. Now Doc is looking to dump him after he's making some semblance of progress?
He's more Bill Fitch than Gregg Popovich. I guess a young player can't get any reasonable developmental consideration under Doc unless he's his own son.

oh god, getting rid of a player at a need spot so we can pick up yet another guard who can't defend?
it is pretty hard to be this bad at your job.

I refuse to believe Bullock I going to be salary dumped. That just makes no sense
Plus, why would I want to go to the NBA? Duke players suck in the pros.

Since when has Doc ever done anything that makes sense? It's blatantly obvious at this point that he hates youth and athleticism and would rather stock the roster with washed-up fossils from the Big Three-era Celtics.
At what point do we finally fire him and bring in competent people to clean up this mess? How many more first-round picks are we going to waste?

Discussion of Farmar-for-Sessions Swap
Jason Jones, Sacramento Bee (1/14/15)
Kings notes: No in-season trades yet, but deals still being explored
According to a league source, the Kings discussed a deal that would have sent Sessions to the Los Angeles Clippers for guard Jordan Farmar. Sessions has missed the last 10 games because of a low back strain.
Sessions last played Dec. 22 at Golden State. He played six minutes in the first half before Ray McCallum took over backup point guard duties in the second half.
This has been a down season for Sessions, who has dealt with knee and back issues. He’s averaging 6.1 points and 2.5 assists in 17.1 minutes per game, all career lows for the eight-year veteran.
Entering the season, Sessions was expected to play a lot, including time with starting point guard Darren Collison and in three-guard sets. But he hasn’t been a big part of the rotation.

I realise a lot of people don't want Farmar but there is no way in hell that an old injured Sessions will be better. Why would we even consider this?

Yeah it would. Unfortunately the NBA salary system isn't like the NFLs.

if so, It has to mean Jamal is as good as gone. we are talking about two equal value players but one is more of a spot up shooter and the other is a sure handed ball handler.
ehhhhh f it.

I wish I knew more about the NBA trading system because I just can't see the motive behind most of these rumours.

Seems pretty simple to me. Acquire offense for cheap, see how it works out, considering dealing Crawford for a wing in a few weeks.

Re: Trade Idea Thread II
This is what the roster could look like if Doc gets the guys he wants. Let me add a few wrinkles:
1. There is a three-team trade being discussed between the Thunder, Hornets and Nets. The trade is centered around Brooklyn's center Brook Lopez (that must be a record for double double words in a sentence). It is possible that Kendrick Perkins could be traded to either the Hornets or Nets, possibly even a fourth team like the Celtics or 76ers for a buyout. Doc Rivers will automatically go after Perkins for the same reasons he got Glen Davis - he won a title with him in 2008, and he knows Doc's system.
2. There is still the possibly of Doc reuniting with one of his Big 3 in either Ray Allen or Kevin Garnett. Garnett could get bought out as well. Allen is still a free agent, and there have been rumors of retirement, but not an official statement or press conference.
3. The buyout bargain bin consists of Tayshaun Prince and Andrei Kirilenko. This list could increase. There is also Ron Artest.
4. When DeAndre Jordan tweeted his farewell post to Chris Douglas-Roberts and Reggie Bullock today, he made a typo on his post that got Twitter ablaze, suggesting that Doc could trade him at the deadline for one more superstar. The roster below will not reflect the superstar scenario, but just know that this may happen since DJ is in a contract year.
With all that mumbo now cleared up, here's what the roster might look like come the post-All Star Break:
EDIT: Forgot to write this up. In Doc's championship season, he had two pure small forwards - Paul Pierce and James Posey. It seems that he also had point guards, shooting guards and power forwards masquerade as the 3 due to having an abundance of 1s and 4s.

This team is a lot better than the one we have obviously but:
1. How does Doc know CDR is a bust when we haven't even seen him play without injury? Doc put in a lot of effort to acquire him.
2. What's the difference between Robinson and Crawford? Why do we need both? I would have prefered Jamal at PG and Bullock at SG to give us some D.
3. Out of all these "What-ifs" and "Possible trades" so far Doc has only tied up his son (The least important to us).
4. I'm concerned that if we miss out on Prince, we leave ourself no choice but to play Jamal at the 3.
5. I would be over the moon to get Perkins because our bench is as soft as Big Baby's Belly.
