Is it time to officially panic?

Post#1 » by Dupp » Wed Jan 14, 2015 9:05 pm

Our play has been trending way down since our 8 game winning streak and i think we're 2-9 in our last 11. We have a long long list of problems.

- Our defense looked good for a couple of games and now its worse than ever.
- Our offense that did look good was crap
- Kevin Love. Whats gonna happen? I'm sure he likes riding the bench in the fourth quarter of losses. He's not being used effectively at all. Why wouldnt he walk if this is how the teams gonna be? Luckily we threw away a generational talent in getting him.
- Kyrie wants to play hero ball and Lebron showing him thats the way
- No chemistry
- No heart
- Can't rebound
- Lebrons not a leader
- So many rumors about Blatt and were theres smoke there is fire. I mean its reflected in our play and abandoning our offense we were playing earlier for hero ball really lines up with all those rumors of players not listening to blatt.
- If we fire blatt and hire mark jackson send this team to Seattle
- Below .500 in the east.
-Tristan Thompson turned down a 13 per year contract with us. What does that say about this team?

I was looking to see if there was a thread on this. This seems crazy, right?!? I like the guy, but I'd have trouble paying him $10m per, let alone $13m per, and he's turning that down? Is this something to do with kind of being a payoff to Lebron's people?

Otherwise, no, I wouldn't panic. All these same reports were coming out of Miami for the full 1st year that trio was there. I'd be ok waiting. I'd like to see Kevin Love playing in the 4th, but it takes time to gel after such a MASSIVE overhaul as you guys have had for the last 9 months.

Yeah it's crazy. I knew we'd offer around 12 but didn't think he'd turn it down. I find it's hard to believe it's a money problem as to why he turned it down but who knows.

I wouldn't really compare it to the situation in Miami. At worst they were 9-8 and while it took a bit of time to get used to playing in an offense that didn't really have a blueprint due to the specific roster, their defense was still really good right from the beginning. They also had strong leadership in place to quell these type of things such as "bumpgate" with LeBron and Spoelstra. That was only 17 games in. This is much longer and it seems to be getting worse, not better.

Maybe just a desire to see where the cap ends up rising to and hoping inflation works to their advantage? :dontknow:

Maybe, or maybe he doesn't want to be a backup?

I am in panic mode but the experts seem to think Cavs FO is waiting on Shumpert to get healthy to decide whether to fire Blatt.

The problem is LeBron, him not respecting Blatt enough and not playing hard, is making everything a mess.
Is an ego thing, he seems to want more power.
There are two options, LeBron give ups his stupid selfish ambitions and starts playing for real, or you fire Blatt and promote Lue.
You will probably have to fire Griffin this offseason too, since he doesnt want to fire Blatt.

Let's just say that the Cavs are very fortunate to be in the East. There is no way that they would make the playoffs in the West.. In spite of the disappointing start to this season though, I still feel like the Cavs can make a very deep playoff run because of you know who.

Blatt? not seeing anything special. Kyrie...great talent but will he adapt to a TEAM game? Love.. has some rare talents but NONE that include defense. Replacing Waiters with JR Smith? that's a statement about what a Chemistry fail Waiters was.

LeBron has so much basketball instinct in his DNA.. I'd say he OUGHT to be the LEADER he's trying to be. Magic Johnson...took ownership of the Lakers..and that worked. LeBron is a powerful influence. GSW fans dis Mark Jackson.. BUT.. Jackson got them playing D, thinking like a team. It set Kerr up to take it further. The Cavs HAVE the big opportunity.

A guy on TV is saying Blatt has to take command..get respect. Well...sure.. and you can say the same for ANY fired NBA coach. Blatt has to make the players into a TEAM. Has to ADD to the raw potential. Has he done it? No. The clock is ticking.

As a GSW fan.....I was against paying a lot to RENT Love. I love his ability to shoot +board but he's AWFUL on D. For GSW to lose a SG who shoots AND shines on D...while getting WORSE on D at PF ... then there's a free agent soap opera... NO thanks.

The Cavs bet they could pay high because they'd look Title Ready. Love would stay..play with LeBron, Kyrie, etc. Want to stay. Now..things are frustrating. That's NOT okay. The Cavs have to take a hard look. I think you can salvage Love. Not sure Blatt works...well..as of now he does NOT but can it turn around? I'd say..in the next month you decide.

No need to panic. The Cavs are a lock to make the playoffs at which point anything can happen. I wouldnt want Lebron in the first round.
