Why? So the Countdown to Ernie Grunfeld Firing thread can live? That's laughable. The success this team is having and you still can't give Ernie credit. Sad

What are you talking about? I give Ernie a lil bit of credit, I just wish this suck up/kiss Ernie's arse thread would just die

Don't feed the trolls, Mike. ;)

This isn't a suck up thread. It's a thread giving praise where praise is due.
If the team was terrible, there would be a ton of threads bashing management and that would be okay. Now that the team is 2nd best in the conference, what's wrong with a praise thread?

Actually, they are 1 game over where I had them at this point.

Nothing all that shocking.

As for those annoyed by this thread. Why ? It a celebration of the team doing well. And like we do here, it rubs some noses who didn't see it coming and who outwardly slammed them and anyone that didn't buy into them sucking and not building something that was improving. And those that still don't even see it as of today.

There was years of slamming the front office and the roster. Many many threads to go along with it. Many posters getting beat up on for posting positive projections.

There have been a handful of thread like this taking the other side. Its a free world. People want Amazingly sucky threads and count down to firing threads. Well there will be Proving Doubting Wrong threads when those people are proven wrong.

Take your lumps. I'm sure the people have been on the other side of your arguments will go easier on you then you did them.

But make no mistake. There will be some nose rubbing. You can't post negative crap for years and walk away without that happening.

milellie111 wrote:I believe Ernie Grunfeld deserves some credit for such a well balanced team he has put together. The best backcourt in the league with Wall and Beal, one of the best overall small forwards in the East (Ariza),a legit starter in Booker, and a serviceable center in Gortat. The bench is also deep. Garrett Temple is a gem and one of the best defensive backup pgs in the league, Nene is a top 10 power forward in the league when healthy, Martell Webster could be a starter on another team, Vesely is a rebounding freak and has lots of potential and Otto Porter has star potential. Most importantly this team has chemistry, the guys look as if they all mesh and have fun playing together and there are no knuckleheads/problem childs on the team.

There is a reason Grunfeld still has his job....Because he knows what he's doing!! Constantly im reading on here and hearing from Wizards fans they want Grunfeld gone. Ernie actually needs an extension. This team is built to hang with anyone in the East and the future looks bright with the money we have to sign a free agent. Most importantly, Ernie chose the right coach in Whittman. He could be a candidate for coach of the year if the team keeps playing like it is. Whittmans coaching style is working and the guys are responding. Whittman has turned Wall into a star right under our eyes and possibly the best all around point guard in the league (offensively and defensively). Quiet as kept, Ted Leonsis is one of the best owners in the league compared to some other guys (mark cuban). Ted cares about this team and is committed to winning. Also, he is one of the most down to earth individuals out there.

The future looks bright for this team and i hope everyone is retained on the coaching and management staff as i see this team being one of the best in the NBA.

This is Wall's 5th season and he still doesn't have a quality backup.

Overall, we still have a successful team. Lots of depth at Power Forward and Center. I actually think Millers veteran presence actually is valuable to the maturation of Wall however we could use another backup pg.

You really have to stop looking at mostly useless pages.

You really think LAC are 3rd and the Buck are better then CHI and us ?

Reality is. The best teams are more likely.

ATL, GS, SAS, MEM, CAVS

not

GS, ATL, LAC, MEM, DAL

You would be better off looking at this page from Marc Stein.

http://espn.go.com/nba/powerrankings

And we are only 14th because we just dropped 3. Once we beat ORL and TOR we will be back up near top 10

Oh, and read the side not on the Wizards.

This is the first season since 1983-84 that the Wiz have posted a winning record in November, December and January.

Making progress comes in phases.

I just talked to one of my friends who said that EG is a really good GM. Is this how most Wizard fans feel?

Actually, Stein ranks the Wizards 14th with a 31-17 record. Since that ranking, they've gone 1-3. Don't be surprised if they drop in the next ranking tomorrow, possibly passed by Charlotte.

Hollinger, on the other hand, has the Wiz back up to 14 in the newest edition. Maybe his system gives them more credit for playing the Hawks close on the road. http://espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/powerrankings
