I miss Neil Olshey. Granted that was Sterling's fault. But knowing Martintovaught he'll spin it to become anti-Doc propaganda.
If the Clippers win the championship next year I'm getting banned from RealGM

Dudley Trade was Dumb
og15 wrote:Except Dudley was actually an above average NBA player before coming here, the place where previously efficient role players come to die (see: Dudley, Hawes, CDR), and we got Redick in that whole mix-up. Not to mention that Dudley when not injured, ie: this season and every other season but last season is productive.
Dudley this season:
7.3 ppg / 3.0 rpg / 1.7 apg / 0.9 spg / 48% FG / 40% 3PT / 81% FT / 22.4 mpg
Since Parker got injured (15 games):
11.1 ppg / 4.5 rpg / 2.3 apg / 1.5 spg / 51% FG / 44% 3PT / 84% FT / 28 mpg
Let's just hope we don't re-sign Rivers then package him with Wilcox and a 2nd round pick in order to clear cap space
I already made a lengthy post about this, but I wasn't sold on the Dudley trade and resigned myself to accepting it with an open mind to liking it to see what Doc would do with it. The short of it is that we should have traded with Orlando for Tobias Harris or something. The Magic were clearly in pursuit of Bledsoe. We got Redick through Milwaukee, who participated in the deal to receive two 2nd rounders so we didn't have to deal with Phoenix at all. J.J.'s other option was to sign with Minnesota and really wanted to join the Clips but needed to make a comparable offer to what the Wolves were offering, hence, the Bucks' participation.

Nothing needs to be spun, Doc has done a tremendous job of convincing people he's an awful GM all by himself.
I thought Olshey was a tad overrated, but I'll gladly take him back over this mess.

Well my personal preference was to keep Bledsoe and play him and Paul together, but I don't want to get into that again because I'm over it. You're right, we didn't really need to participate with Phoenix, I just don't know anymore either way.

It's not enough to squander draft picks but having dead cap space in waiving Farmar this season and next season (Farmar's player option) is what Doc considers "roster flexibility". We were much better off not making a deal.

Re: TRADE IMMINENT - Rivers, Crawford(???), others?
This is unbelievably stupid. I know people hated Sterling but at least the guy had people in the front office who had experience in the NBA. Ballmer is rookie that has no idea what he's doing. He put a president in place with no prior NBA or basketball experience and has no idea what she's doing. I know conventional thinking is that the president isn't directly managing the basketball operations and transactions, but when you effectively have the coach managing that and no one else with a primary role or substantial experience in it, you need other front office people who understand the transactional market in the league and how to construct a team. There's a lot more interplay in the front office from the execs to the owner in a lot of organizations at this point than is typically stated. Everything doesn't lie in the hands of the GM and deferring everything to one person in the coach isn't wise as we've seen over the last couple years.
The organization is more dysfunctional than under Sterling at this point. He knew he was going to squeeze money to make the team profitable regardless of performance. It's not as crazy as a lot of people think that there are organizations that are inept in the operational side of the league - you have evidence of a team like Denver offering a non conforming contract under the new CBA. If Ballmer doesn't bring in some legit executives, I could easily see this organization floundering again over time due to incompetence.

I preferred keeping Bledsoe over the Dudley-Redick deal (mostly because of Dudley). We had a hot trade chip only to toss it away.

Lowe Also Low on Trade
It's readily obvious to us how bad the trade is yet Doc and his staff are oblivious to this. Doc's already shown that he's not smarter than everyone else in this regard.

Good luck, Reggie!
Coach Doc has his work cut out for him in order to bail out GM Doc.

Re: TRADE IMMINENT - Rivers, Crawford(???), others?
Bullock was our ONLY player on a low salary that was actually giving us production!!! Farmar, Hawes, CDR, Udoh, Hedo have all been useless and Doc trades Bullock for a player who is less NBA-ready than Bullock. We traded a 3&D guy for the 'no D and shooting 28% from deep' Austin Rivers. #bloodbeforewater

Thats the question everyone wants answered. Im not certain Robinson can hold up the rest of the season (coming off ACL repair and has had back issues this season). I think Rivers will experiment with Robinson, Crawford and Rivers on the floor together.

Wow, so we allow the Suns to "help" us in a trade, and fleece us, yet again.

the clippers have made me very sad today. i can't even put into words all the disgust i feel towards doc. dude needs to go and never come back.
how sad is it that one of the last major moves sterling made (not resigning olshey) has come back to really bite us in the ass? i don't see how you can win a championship with doc rivers destroying your front office.

Hey guys is Reggie Bullock any good?
I know some of you are acting as if losing Bullock is a huge loss but this is the same kid who couldn't beat out the likes of a struggling Dudley and Matt Barnes right? Or is it for some other reason?
Bullck isn't gonna get any playing time with us either because we have Tucker, Marcus, Warren all ahead of him at SF and then Dragic, Green and Goodwin all ahead of him at SG.

It's too early to judge Ballmer. His hands were tied going in due to mistakes that were made long before he ever entered the picture, dating all the way back to the Mo Williams trade. So far, he's been a very supportive owner and hasn't embarrassed the franchise, unlike Sterling. About the only thing he's screwed up was rushing into an extension with Doc. However, there's no salary cap on coaches and I doubt he'd care about eating the remaining money on that contract if push came to shove.
