NBA Finals predictions

Post#1 » by JTrain » Tue Jan 13, 2015 9:37 pm

Can't remember a year when it was this wide open. What's your best guess?

I think their are five Western teams with a real shot: GSW, LAC, Portland, Houston, San Antonio. Golden State seems like the closest thing to a great team right now, but I still have my doubts that they could beat LAC or San Antonio. Houston may finally be coming together.

And the Eastern teams with the best chance would be Atlanta, Chicago, Cleveland and Toronto. I do think Cleveland will have it mostly figured out by Playoffs, but I still don't think they can beat Chicago or Atlanta in a series.

I'm going to say Golden State vs. Chicago with GS winning in 6.

Well, we've made them twice now, but I think it's a bit too early. I really want to see if OKC gets back to form. If they do, and get in, I'd put them up there and think they could beat anyone. But I'm not sure what exactly is wrong with them right now.

But as usual, it will boil down to who has significant injuries.

I'd still probably lean GS, but I'd have to know who is healthy. I think Portland has a legit shot. I usually think Memphis does, but I'm not completely sure about them right now, but certainly wouldn't count them out. I would never count Dallas out either with Carlisle. They took the Spurs to seven last year and added Rondo and Parsons.

I'm not sold on anyone else (Clips, Spurs, Rockets)

As for the east, I think Atlanta is going to be tough to beat if they stay healthy. Toronto might be close with DeRozan back. The Bulls will be a tough playoff out, but not sure about them. Cleveland will get it more together at some point, but I don't think they make the finals.

It will depend on who gets the calls or who gets too hot to stop. I see the league making some moves to get teams into positions unfortunately.

Spurs and Cavaliers, because people forgot that the regular season doesn't matter.

Raps in 4 is something stupid I picked up from the general board when they were perennially awful.

Wouldn't mind seeing a GSW-MEM west final though. Preferably no HOU, LAC, SAS. Ambivalent to DAL, POR, OKC.
