It's almost like experience matters.
Davis is tops in the league, of course. At age 21. The best PPA season was a 282 by Lebron in his 3rd year in Miami.
Where are the people who ridiculed my affinity for Tyler Zeller? I could name names, but I won't.
Pau Gasol still is very good. His statistics when healthy, while playing for the Lakers led me to conclude BACK THEN that Pau is still better than Nene or Gortat. (THAT IS WHY I SUGGESTED TRADES, TGW AND OTHERS...) Folks who wanted no parts of Pau were wrong, as generally the same folks were wrong about Tyler Zeller .Tyler Zeller so far ranks above Beal, but that isn't meant to bring arguments about how good Beal is. It just should make folks rethink short arms keeping Zeller from being effective.
I won't let haters run me away from RealGM. A lot of negative people who generally only know enough to attack other posters would love for there to be even one less poster on this board.
I have my Morris Almond or Mike Sweeney moments. So, not to stress out anyone. Just that I love it when folks say I am wrong.
I hope I'm not running ANYONE AWAY.Put me on ignore if you can't stand me, my posts, or me showing you up.
Yeah, that was the draft that before we landed the #3, we were talking about moving picks around to landing Tyler and Lillard. But Lillard really moved up the charts late in the process.
Give me a couple more years and we can talk about Zeller and Len.
Still keeping an eye on Cory Jefferson. He is a few years away. Marieff seems like he is well on this way this year.

Actually foreign born players include Kyrie Irving (Australia), Patrick Ewing (Jamaica), and Tim Duncan (US Virgin Islands). But yeah, Pau Gasol is the only NBA player to have won it who was fully trained outside the United States.

Re: '14-'15 Rookie/Sophomore/Junior Thread
Shabazz Muhammad has been balling. The kid can score. I carried water for that guy in the draft thread that year, I'm glad he's finally doing well now that the minutes are there for him post-Brewer trade.
I wonder what'll happen with Zach Levine moving forward? Muhammad is a bigger scoring talent and opens the floor up better for Wiggins. Levine is clearly not a PG, starting Mo Williams at PG has clearly made a huge positive difference for Andrew Wiggins and Rubio is the long term future at the position. Levine is a ball handling 2. But between Muhammad, Wiggins, and Rubio, you have zero extra touches to go around.
I like all of the young assets they've got. But if I were them, I'd be looking to consolidate them into a few that I felt really good about. Deal the superfluous ones off for better short term vets and build a strong team around Wiggins that he can learn to win with. I like the team Minnesota could have in three or four years.

I wonder how would Ante have done in DC if somehow he was our pick instead? Especially considering he doesn't have a reliable 3-ball yet... my best guess is much like Otto... there would be a lot of bench sitting, slow developing & hand wringing over the pick & Witt's use of him.

I'm surprised Wiggins and - to a lesser extent - Nurkic don't have higher scores. Wiggins has really picked things up the last 10 or so games.

Looking at Wiggins season numbers (I haven't gone into splits or game log), it looks like he doesn't do a lot other than score, and he does that inefficiently. Obviously a ton of potential. His numbers so far remind me a bit of Durant's rookie season.
With Nurkic, a couple things jump out. One, he's a low minute reserve, so he's playing relatively easier minutes. And two, he rebounds extremely well, blocks shots, gets steals, and the team is MUCH better defensively when he's in the game. But, he fouls a lot (10.5 per 100 possessions -- compare with say Seraphin at 8.4), and he's a turnover machine (4.2 per 100 possessions).

Re: '14-'15 Rookie/Sophomore/Junior Thread
Nurkic is actually starting now. Denver made the trade with Cleveland in part because they like Nurkic - not to mention Cleveland probably over-paid. He definitely has a turnover issue, and rookie bigs tend to foul a ton, but he's a talented defender who can score and rebound. I guess on both of them, I'm focusing more on what they've done lately rather than their season on the whole.

He's starting now, but it's too soon for the starter minutes to outweigh the bench minutes he'd been getting throughout the season. I can see why Denver likes him, though. He looks like he could be pretty good in time.
