Lou and JJ are the new kids on the block and both have a Hip Hop demeanour (cocky?) which is curious for JJ considering he comes from Cheyenne, Wyoming. Players need swag and I don't even mind pull up 3's but first they have to support the open man. They can do this so well but then have memory lapses. Ball movement makes them operate with such greater efficiency especially when it ends up an Amir bucket or JV bucket.

JJ's assists are 1.6 per game. That's brutal considering he is a decent point forward and a very good passer. Lou Williams, a pure scorer, has 1.7 assists per game which is similar to JJ adjusted for the extra minutes that he receives. Maybe Amir and Pat can have those numbers but not your wings. Ross? .9 assists. I mean Ross at the very least can pick up that part of his game. Ross to me is starting to look like Martell Webster II.

If GV was really leading the second unit the way he did in the playoffs they would be a lot better. So Ross is fouling up the first unit and allowed to work through his "where's my game" crisis and GV is atrocious on the second and also getting twin guard minutes he doesn't deserve.

Ross and GV deserve to be benched.

It's an effort type of thing and there can't be excuses. I know Vasquez is going through a mourning process but a job is a job. He needs to pick up his play or he should be traded. We need to make some moves obviously things aren't clicking and it doesn't seem like there's a quick fix available.

That 4th quarter in Chicago is when the real concern should have started but it was pushed under the rug. No legitimate contender can give up 48 points in a 4th quarter without thier being major issues with the team. Although we beat the Clippers and Nuggets the next 2 games and played strong the first 3 quarters against Portland, we were playing that same haphazard way offensively but the shots were falling so it was ignored. That type of shoot first mentality is never sustained and ends up affecting everything on both ends of the court.

I wish Kyle was able to hold a players only practice, at midnight. Bring everyone together, when their tired. Just to see the effort level.


Also, I know Ross hasn't missed a game, but we should try benching him (for at least 3 quarters) just to see how the rest of the team plays.

I want this team cocky. But they have lost their rythym. And other teams have adjusted and seen too much Raptors tape I think (ie, the spike in turnovers). Adjustments are needed -- I can't remember the last time this team got blown out this bad

So, whats the difference between the team that has played in the past 6 or 7 games and the team that started the season with one of the best offences in the history of the NBA? Even the team from last season that never got blown out, played passable defence and played a heartbreaking but pretty solid first round series?

When I watched last night, I saw 5 individual players playing iso all night. 4 straight series, Patterson, Williams, Patterson, and Lowry came down court, jacked up a quick 3 that missed. Atlanta came down each time and drove or hit a midrange jumper. The lead got extended from 5 to 14. Then two horrible turnovers by Ross and Lowry and no one came back.

So were they making those shots that they are now missing? I seem to remember much more ball movement, drive and kicks, PnRs... We are taking contested 3s!!!!!! Has the league figured us out? Have we lost confidence? Lowry was playing out of his mind for 30 games, but the league adjusted, and know he needs other guys to step up. On D, they hedge was to much and rely on help that isn't there. They get broken down in the half court and are terrible in transition.

There is a lot of trouble right now, but not ready to waive the white flag. I think the silver lining is that this probably shows MU he needs to do something soon. Besides KL, DD, and JV, and maybe JJ, I say everyone is fair game for the right price.

Team lacks basketball IQ, love making plays tougher than they should be.
Team isn't focused (particularly Ross) Vasquez forgot he was brought in to make good passes, get team going by PASSING the ball.
Lowry has been struggling lately
I'd love to get KG on our team to teach not only our bigs but our team in general how to make the easy, correct passes and not to lose focus on defense.

Ehhh, I could understand the overreactions, this team is nowhere where it needs to be defensively but we're not even halfway through the season and some teams tend to fall off around the all-star break and other teams tend to pick it up and win at a .600 or .700 pace after the all-star break which is two weeks, so a new season could begin after it. I do believe that this team has to trade one of Lou,Vasquez and expirings to get either an established SF and/or a more mobile backup C if they want to improve, if Masai still wants to go through an evaluation process again because this is a young team and to be in jeopardy of losing in the first round, then it has to happen.

team meetings are not going to change offensive/defensive strategies. there is a systematic flaw on both ends of the court.
