Daye waived, JaMychal Green signed to 10 day

Really hope he signs with us, he's been tearing it up in Austin and I still think he should of made the team out of training camp.

The question is who do we waive to make room for him? Daye Ayres?

Thoughts?

San Antoino is waiving Austin Daye, clearing the way to sign JaMychal Green to a 10-day contract, league source tells Yahoo.

Bye bye Daye !
Shaq on Duncan:SA won because of TD, a guy I could never break.I could talk trash to Ewing, get in D-Rob's face, get a rise out of Mourning, but when I went at Tim he’d look at me like he was bored and say:“Hey,Shaq, watch this shot right off the glass.”

Pretty much, dude was painful to watch. Too slow, atrocious defensively and he was supposed to be a good shooter, but he can't hit a freaking open shot.

I don't think there's a place for him in the NBA quite honestly.

Agreed. He's shown flashes in the past but I just don't think he has the work ethic.

That guy made me so sick when he was a piston that every time I mentioned his name I would always say Doris Daye before I came to my senses. I sometimes thinks he has the talent but his basketball IQ is non-existent. He might have overstayed his welcome in the league.

I don't see Green ever succeeding in the NBA. He isn't athletic or quick enough as a SF and isn't big or strong enough as a PF.

Seems most of his D League points come from layups and putbacks that would get stuffed against most decent bigs. He does seem to have a decent mid range jumper, but I don't see where he could get minutes other than our injury or rest games.

As for Daye, I wasn't a fan. I'm actually surprised he made it so long without a shooting coach forcing him to change his shot, his body isn't straight, his head tilted and he looks extremely uncomfortable the closer he gets to the hoop.

I am not expecting Green to make a huge impact this year, but the development he has shown from last year to this year is pretty amazing. He has developed a shot, can hit the corner three, can rebound, and plays hard. Daye just didn't pan out. I feel for the guy, but he did have plenty of opportunities to make an impact as a Spur. Welcome aboard J. Green!

Even if JaMychal doesn't work out, it's nice to know we have a roster spot open to sign other guys being waived.

I find that a little odd. He hasn't looked terrible in the minutes he's gotten and I thought the team was quite high on him.

I think he wanted more than the Spurs were willing to give. Now we have Reggie Wlliams, I would think we need a 3/4. I worry Danny Green is burning out coupled with the Beli injury is the reason this move happened.

So Memphis just gave him a 10 day. Really hope he finds a spot in the NBA.

I do too because he seems like a nice guy. His Twitter shows him with his family, he seems to be a man of faith etc and doesn't have any excuses or bad words to say about anything. I just think in betweeners SF/PF rarely find stable homes in the league any more.

I dunno if he keeps working on his shot he could become a DeMarre Carroll type.

He certainly looked like he had some hustle and meanness on the court that was not in Daye.

You guys should bring over Davis Bertans. He's 2x better than Daye already.

Only saw him a few times, but I think Green isn't a tweener. He's got a SF body and a PF game. That simply makes him an undersized PF. Not a tweener. Just like a PG-sized Shooting Guard that can't run a team doesn't make him a combo guard. It just makes an undersized SG.
