Now, I can't believe we got him in that trade. I wouldn't bring back Love for Wiggins at this moment.

Re: The Andrew Wiggins Thread
He’d just been picked by the Cleveland Cavaliers, this in the days before LeBron James would decide to flee Miami to return to the hometown squad where he began his career. And while at the time James’s theoretical free-agent landing spot was only the stuff of speculation, Wiggins was asked what it might be like if King James chose to join the Cavs.
“We’d be good together,” Wiggins said.
Wouldn’t they ever. All it’s taken is half a rookie season to see that the Cavaliers made a grave mistake trading Wiggins to the Minnesota Timberwolves in a deal that landed them all-star forward Kevin Love. With Love proving an underwhelming presence — and with the discordant, defensively inept Cavs labouring to a 21-20 win-loss record at the midway mark — a trade that was designed as a win-now measure already looks like a regret-forever misstep.
Wiggins, let’s be clear, is the sure-thing rookie of the year. He’s averaging about 15 points and four rebounds a game, more than respectable figures, for sure. And to give a measure of how rapidly he’s improving, he was averaging about 21 points a game in January before going off for a career-high 31 on Saturday night in Denver.
What’s more noteworthy, maybe, is the enormity of his matchups. On most nights he often finds himself guarding the best player on the opposing team. One night it’s Kobe Bryant. Another it’s Kevin Durant or Rudy Gay or James.
Sam Mitchell, the ex-Raptors head coach now serving as an assistant in Minnesota, said top players have routinely targetted Wiggins with an eye toward intimidating and dominating.
So far, it hasn’t gone particularly well.
“The top guys, when they play him, they test him. And what they find out is that: one, he’s not going anywhere; two, he brings it right back to ’em; and three, he has a lot of talent,” Mitchell said. “Durant came to town. He tried to go at Andrew a little bit. They were talking a little trash. And all of a sudden Andrew came down and just had three or four great moves against Durant. And you could just look at Durant saying, ‘Okay. I’d better leave him alone. He’s going to be all right.’ ”

Re: The Andrew Wiggins Thread
Whats Im impressed about him is his durability. He's playing almost 40 minutes a game, guarding the best player on the opponent team and drops 20 points easily. And he's healthy
Trust the PRosas!

Heck, I'd even have second thoughts about trading Bennett for Love at this point.

I feel like this kid is growing every day.
Now go get him a 2nd young stud in the offseason Flip.

Re: The Andrew Wiggins Thread
Hello to everyone!
As for Wiggins I think that all the Minesota Timberwolves fans have not be afraid to say it. This kid can be something like Michael Jordan. He has all the tools. I don't know if he will reach a level like that but he has the potential to do it.
My opinion is that he can be better than Lebron James. The man who draw him away from Cleveland.
Wiggins has 1000 ways to score the ball in the basket.
The only think that he has to improve is his upper body. He has to put on 5 kilograms of muscles and then he will be unstopabble!

Re: The Andrew Wiggins Thread
The bigger question hasn't been if Wiggins will be good or not, to me at least. The bigger question is if the Wolves can actually put enough around Wiggins to where they can actually do something. So far, the Wolves are 0-2 based on their history

I seriously think Marbury/Garnett could've been special. Had the salary cap/max salaries been like they are today, I don't think Marbury would've demanded out. Or at least I like to think not.
And we already have Rubio locked in for the duration of Wiggins' rookie-scale deal. Plus a likely top-5 pick coming this summer. And a lot of other young pieces to build around that we just didn't have built up before drafting Garnett or Love.

It's really crazy that at his age he can already impact the game from both sides, and his offensive game doesn't look raw at all like many critics said about him

Re: The Andrew Wiggins Thread
Watching the Williams/Wiggins PG/SG pick and roll gets me excited for when Rubio gets inserted into the lineup.

Re: The Andrew Wiggins Thread
This team is absolutely headed in the right direction. So much young talent on this team! Plus a chance to add a major piece in this draft. There's major young talent all over this roster. Even Bennett. I absolutely refuse to give up on him this early in his career. Wiggins hit him with some nice looks and he finishes with authority. Developing the three ball, too. I think he and Wiggins can form some kind of synergy given the commonality of experiences of the two. Wiggins is the keystone, though, there can be no doubt about that. Rarely have I seen a guy score as easily as he can. Kid weighs 200 **** pounds, boys. 200 pounds! He will be an unstoppable force on the basketball court as a fully mature adult male. If he can't post you up and make you pay there, he'll rain 3s on your pathetic ass. No 3s? **** you, how about from the mid-range, then? Nope. OK, he can run, too, in the open floor and handle the rock. If all else fails, he'll just dish the ball all over the court to his wide open teammates. Oh, and he'll smash your weakass jumpshot into your Mom's uterus. Going to be a seriously great player.

unlike KG and to a lesser extant Love, just having a superstar with some good players around you, still isn't good enough to make the PO in the west. Hell NO probably have the best player in the league and they won't come close to making it. You have to be absolutely stacked these days. So Flip has to hit on a ton more going forward.
Oh and the Wolves have to find a way to keep players healthy. By now we have to stop saying what if when it comes to guys getting injured. That's going to be HUGE going forward

Bennett has clear talent, but plays the complete opposite of what he should. Dude should be Shawn Kemp 2.0 but he plays like Dante Cunningham. He's got a long ways to go, but the problem is, he's going to be making way to much money for his level of production
Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
