I proposed something realistic. Whether it's better or worse is completely subjective. But getting a 1st round pick for a player who would instantly be the 2nd best player on this team isn't the worst idea.

the trade is not a bad idea for us, its laughable from Chi side however

How so? Chicago is going to pay Jimmy Butler the max. Their owner won't go into luxury tax so they'll need to clear cap space. How many teams are going to take on 17 million that Taj Gibson is owed especially when teams are trying to conserve cap space. Someone might trade a 1st rounder for him but they're essentially losing flexibility and he's already 29. Chicago has no need for him with Gasol, Mirotic and Noah. Maybe add a 2nd rounder from our end, but I just don't see how he'd be in high demand.

Snell has been a disappointment in Chicago so far and his minutes (or lack of) are proof. They are looking for a defensive sf and a scoring 2 guard. They are a couple pieces away from being complete. They are competing for a crown and their 1st will be a very late 1st and they don't have 2nd till 2017. What do you think an underachieving Snell's value is?

I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be hard to get a 1st for Gibson even with his contract. Given the fact he's actually good enough to start just about for any team in the league and at that salary its a bargin, its just not one since he's a backup in Chi. He's actually needed their to close out 4th qtrs. for defensive purposes, something I don't think Thibs will even consider with Pau or Mirotic.

Excellent point. Should I merge it?

You shouldn't merge it... because the trade thread is full of hypothetical trade ideas while this thread specifically goes inside the mindset of the FO heading into the TD.........

as much as I like Hill... I think it would be good for our youngsters to move him for assets... maybe a prospect C plus a pick or something... i think this will give Kelly and Black the opportunity they need. i mean what the heck right?

we could start Kelly alongside Davis... backed up by Booz Black and Sacre.

Kelly could be our Pau Gasol when he was 18 years old. lol.

My dream for the TD.... is Hill/Young/Sacre/Lin/Price all traded for something better then there value on this team.... Lin will probably play a lot better with a team and a coach that values his skills... he's not gonna get that luxury with the Lakers and Scott.....

Warning issued for repetitive pointless criticism. Read and abide the Lakers board rules.

I'm giving you a time out to think this through and hopefully be more useful when you come back.

Looks like miles plumber can be had.. I would diff give up hous 1st round pick and sacre.. Then use Hill as a trade chip.. This screams like a suns/lakers deal.

Read and abide before posting again. Kind of weird that this needs to be reminded every now and then to keep the board in order.

he's been terrible, that's why he's available....I wouldn't give up picks for him, indy gave him away for nothing too and he just had a decent season last year with Pho now's he's end of the bench player again.
