why not? can't image lebron running trough screens for him. if anything i want lebron guarding him. other players may watch out on him.

I meant on the defensive end.

His presence alone should help with the paint being much less clogged on offense. While I do prefer the Bulls going back to the old grinding, discretionary shot-selection style that helps minimize transition baskets, I imagine an active Doug will help Jimmy get back to dominating the low post.

Yep. The spacing that Doug will provide will help Jimmy the most. Rose too. I think Doug's solid team D and decent rotations will be better than Brooks and Kirk defending much bigger wings as well. Although Snell has improved Doug is better in team D then Snell too.

same. lebron is overrated offensive player, just as mcdermott is underrated defensive player. lebron is pretty much past.

I don't think he is going to have the immediate impact in regards to providing spacing that many think he'll have just by being on the floor. Remember he had a terrible first part of his career, where he is bricking shots left, right and center. Teams aren't going to hand him the respect simply because he was a great shooter in college, he is going to have to prove himself again, even more so after not being so great in the first of his career.

He needs to start knocking down some shots, it's as simple as that. The one thing he needs to do is slow down, and not rush his shot so much because he had a tendency to rush so damn much on his shot in fear of defenders closing out or blocking his shot.

In terms of spacing, do you think McDermott will have the same effect as Dunleavy, Hinrich, or even Brooks? I have a feeling since he's been sidelined the past couple months and coming in with a 23% 3P%, that opponents will just take their chance and leave him alone, which won't provide much help in terms of spacing.

I know it's still completely premature, but if he's given some decent minutes, I'd love to see him sink those 3's like he's been hyped to do.

Initially I don't think he'll have the same type of effect in terms of spacing that any of our guards provide right now, including Nikola. He simply hasn't proven to be a threat as yet, so teams aren't going to hand him that respect when he hasn't shown the ability to consistently drill 3 point shots.

Once he has a handful of games where he can make a few 3 point shots, then most definitely yes, but right now, I'm looking at how he has performed so far and I'd just defend him like I would anyone else, with no real extra attention until he proves otherwise.

We will see how many games it takes for him to even see the floor. You'd think the 2mins of garbage time last night would have been perfect to get him out there... apparently not good enough for Thibs.
