For the record, Wittman didn't call a timeout yet the Wizards still went on a 14-3 run.

Randy Wittman is the M F N man.

OTOH, he also had 3 turnovers and 3 fouls in 19 minutes and didn't get to the line even once, nor register an assist or a steal or a block.

All the same, even with all that, one of his best games as a Washington Wizard.

Seraphin has had at least two of those this month. Let's hope he keeps it up.

Tried to post these thoughts for my phone in the arena during the game:

-- Don't know if it's my phone or the in-house network, but Uncle Ted's guest Wi-Fi system does nothing for my experience during the game except frustrate me. Never works for uploads.

-- Whatever you think about Seraphin, it's clear that the guys -- particularly the starters when they're on the bench, resting -- like him. They went ballistic when he did his spin and jam move.

-- We were up by 25 with 8 minutes left in the 4th and Randy still had Temple, Web, and Gooden glued to the bench. Why? May as well give them some burn. (This is a very minor quibble).

-- My daughter (7 years old) really enjoyed going to the game. A neighbor kid was playing on the court at halftime. As a parent, I enjoyed the afternoon scheduling -- lots of kids in the house.

-- MLK Day. Today was supposed to be about the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. So what did the Wizards braintrust do for halftime? Two, simultaneous 4v4 half court games with kids from the KOA league. Really? I coulda scheduled better. Perhaps we need a new Susan O'Malley in marketing department. If it were me, I would have: (1) Given local high school media programs 6 month notice and asked kids to prepare their own 1 minute videos -- spoken word, music, animation, live action -- on Dr. King and his legacy. During timeouts, I would have screened them on the jumbotron. (2) At halftime, I would have darkened the arena except for a single spotlight at mid-court (except for a chair, a small side table, glass of water, and a mic. And I would have asked John Lewis to simply walk to center court, sit down, and have 5 minutes to deliver his thoughts on Dr. King and the subject of civil rights.

My dos centavos.

Didn't get to watch the game and I haven't perused the box score. Hopefully, in a 35-point win every player got at least 3 to 5 minutes playing time.

Pine, I am happy for you. I remember like yesterday you got married/had a child on the way. Seven years old...wow! Just like jim's youngest daughter going to college. Honestly, I was recalling her going out for JV basketball. That cannot have been 3 or 4 years ago. Yikes.

My oldest is from my first marriage is estranged, 21 years old, and she plays women's rugby at a D1 college. My sons are 12 and 14, living now with my second ex-wife not far from Ft. Benning, Ga. I had an epically rough 2014....

Dad died. Lost custody of sons in family coutt.Had to go to criminal court and civil court over false accusation charges. Got barred from a military installation (over the same BS). All I can say is my ex and that female principal are kindred spirits. Both can lie with the best of them....both can convince others that everyone but they are guilty.

But God is good all the time! The 2014 lessons learned have paved the way for 2015 blessings.

My dad's remains will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery in early March. Since he passed I feel like he's always with me, and that some of his vast wisdom has been imparted in me.

That trouble I encountered blew over. It closed many doors and caused much heartache, pain, resentment, anxiety, fear, bitterness, etc. That said, I learned many life lessons and I found out that i had not only loved ones who cared, but also many friends and allies. Most were strangers when I didn't even ask for help but they came through for me. Honolulu Police Department officers treated me well. My legal team was close knit, proficient, and friendly. I learned things only those who have been locked up know.

(Great stories about cell mate and other guy who was transported in cruiser with me. I get along well with locals.)

Love is all around me now, Pine and whoever reads this. I am stronger and wiser now-- closer in my relationship with God. Folks are telling me about job openings. I am networking with other veterans. Time for ME alone is enjoyable! My kids are well enough with their mother for now. Life is good!

I plan to attend a Wizards game if possible when I am in town.

That's the classic double-edged sword o Seraphin. He can clearly put the ball in the basket, he'll get some offensive rebounds, and make the FT's he attempts, but his defensive rebounding is awful, he turns the ball over too much, he doesn't get to the line a lot, and he gets called for fouls at an alarming rate (officials typically don't give him a break, but it is what it is).

I'm probably harder on Seraphin's play as anyone, but I find extremely likable, and I'm always rooting for him to play well. It doesn't happen very often, but I'm always hoping he abruptly transmogrifies into a quality NBA player. I emphasize "NBA" because in reality, Seraphin IS a quality basketball player. He's almost certainly top 400-500 in the world, which means he's really, REALLY good. But, the NBA is a league dominated by the top 250-300.

There's room for him in the NBA if he can play more like he did yesterday on a semi-regular basis. And, there's still time this season for him to show he can do that.

I wish Wittman just once would play Wall, Beal, Porter, Seraphin, and Blair together for about 4 or 5 minutes.

Blair is the anti-Seraphin. Not great to watch on offense, undersized, but always makes high basketball IQ plays. Tends to rebound hard.

Blair and K Sera both do foul much, but I doubt they would in up tempo ball featuring Wall, Beal, and solid defender Porter.

I have a feeling they would be very effective.

Blair was inactive for the PHI game but we will see it one day and I expect it to be fun.
