Read somewhere that Cauley Stein might be a high NFL draft pick. He was apparently one of the best high school wide receivers.

Notes from the Duke @ Louisville game:

- Okafor solid as usual on the offensive side. Made the right pass, when he did get the ball, stayed in the post and scored pretty much at will. Okafor, however, was really poor on the defensive glass. Louisville had 18 offensive rebounds! Quite a few were from the guy Okafor was supposed to be boxing out.

- Harrell floated around the perimeter way too much in the first half. Was a monster on the glass all game. Not much going on defensively as his teammates shot brick after brick taking jumpers all game long. Harrell had a strong finish offensively trying to rally his teammates with his passion, but they just could never climb back into the game.

Overall, not much to take from this game because of how poorly Louisville shot against the Duke zone (which they never use, but did today). Okafor still great offensively, Harrell still great motor.

I want the Lakers to pull an "eff it--I love this guy, so I'm going to draft 'em" move ... ala drafting Frankie King and Derek Fisher much higher than they were projected.

I'm in love with Briante Weber's defense and intangibles in the backcourt. It's guys like him that would probably get me fired as a GM. I'd draft his no offense having self in the first round without batting an eye. He's a game changing role player in the mode of Dennis Rodman--a unique talent indeed. His energy alone, would cure a lot of the Laker's defensive woes.

Hey if anyone has the time can someone do a brief scouting report on Jordan Mickey in terms of where he gets his points, his defensive impact etc?

I agree. I'd take him with that Houston pick if we can get a C with our pick.

We would have kind of a nice young group next year, just need some starters:

Weber
Clark
Kelly
Randle
Black

Plus okafor :D

I actually think we have a shot at him, the first pick hasn't gone to the top 1 or 2 worst teams in like ten years.

I just wish BS would just start giving Kelly Black and Clark like 25 mins to get the experience and mistakes out of the way this year.

The reason that won't happen is the difference of guaranteed money in the NBA and not in the NFL.

I'd be happy with just Briante Weber and Julius Randle as our only rooks next year ... as long as some solid, reasonably priced vets are brought in as well:

PG - Weber - Fredette
SG - Bryant - Livingston
C - Lopez - Kaman
PF - Garnett - Randle
SF - Carroll - Johnson

For all the hype that last year's draft got I think I like this year's draft more. The opportunity to draft Jahil or one of the 2 Kentucky bigs has me really looking forward to the draft. I'd be so disappointed if we lose our pick to the Suns.

Weber isn't even ranked in the top 100, he should be around even with our 2nd round pick.

"...has been a lifelong fan of the Los Angeles Lakers..."

Senior Season:
27.9 points, 12.7 rebounds, 8.0 blocks and 7.0 assists per game

Freshman Season at UCLA so far:
12.9 points, 10.9 rebounds, 1.4 blocks, 1.1 steals, and 1.8 assists per game

- Kevon Looney. Came to play at UCLA, from WI. Man I hope we draft this kid. He's gonna be a stud.

Except he's more of a SF than Randle, with a longer wingspan.
