4. if not a star player, they stay pat and trade a piece for picks.

Hard and fast rules like that are just not accurate. Decisions will be based on the circumstances.

If the Suns are in control of a playoff position around the trade deadline/all star break and a deal for a star is not within reach a smaller trade seeking a stretch 4 in exchange for IT is absolutely in play.

Suns have not made the playoffs in 5 years and according to Bball Reference the Suns are 27th in attendance this year.

The organization will not throw around major pieces or compromise thier future ability to make a big deal. IT has a very limited market to begin with and the aforementioned exchange would put them in a better position for success this year.

The last interview I heard from Babby was when they got Wright.

He implies that the Suns still have their eyes set on the future and not short term.
They won't make trades that sacrifices their long term plan for short term gain... The link is in this thread somewhere.

I heard it too. I just don't believe trading IT for a stretch 4 is sacrificing anything longterm.

IT was brought in as an insurance policy for Bled and has a very limited trade market.

Im not advocating dumping 1st rounders and rookie scale contracts for a role player. However I am advocating moving one role (IT) for another role player that can help Suns more/fit better in Suns system.

No idea why you would say that but what I am trying to say is he did not say anything bad so who cares. All he said was he wants to play by next year and if they still do not play him, he wants to go somewhere where he can play. People are acting like he demanded a trade or something. I distinctly remember Steve Nash asking to be traded off the Suns so he could go some place where he could play because he was playing behind Jason Kidd and Kevin Johnson. The only difference today is there are so many more media members that interview players so an incredible amount of information gets out now compared to the 90's. Archie's comments are so irrelevant. Thomas complained earlier in the season far worse after the Raptors game and no one said anything.

It is like that media storm about Lebron pushing his coach away so he would not get a technical. Suddenly the media calls it a headline of "Lebron shoves his coach." Are you kidding me? Anybody who understands anything about human emotion sees that all Lebron did was make sure Blatt did not get a technical. But the media is a horrendous bunch of pathetic reporters that wanna make something out of nothing for headlines.

The media has gotten so bad that they will take one quote from someone and spin it any way they want to get a rise out of people. Anybody with a smart phone has turned into a reporter. I hate it. And seriously, is Goodwin supposed to be content with not playing or something. The guy has handled everything the right way. He has waited his turn. Now he sees the Suns added another player in Bullock and is thinking what the hell? Yet he still keeps going down to the D-League and performing well. He is not sulking. He is a first round pick and a year and a half into his career basically gets zero minutes. He has a right to be angry. It is not like the players in front of him are all stars. They have never been before and they are not going to be this year. He has a lot of confidence in himself and believes he can play right now just like he said. I like his attitude personally. If the Suns gave Goodwin as many chances as they have given Plumlee, I think Goodwin would show everyone what he has.

It wasn't an attack at you, I was acting like the rest of this board, hence the green font. I share your point of view.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Lol. So we should give up on a guy the GM drafted as a long-term project for a 2nd just 1.5 years in, particularly when he's just 20? Some fans man.

+1

Goodwin is getting paid around a million dollars a year...
He is 20 years old and has very good work ethic, he works hard during off-season.
A couple more hard-worked off-season, he could really be a factor by the time he is 22 years old.... Wade entered the league a "polished" 22 year old too... But Goodwin will have 3-4 years of NBA exposure by then.

This scares me:

"I think he's (Len) got a great future," Suns coach Jeff Hornacek told Doug and Wolf on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM Tuesday. "The one thing is we always have to be a little careful with the ankle. His foot is a little sore right now."

Reoccurring foot/ankle problems can end big men's careers. Yao Ming had his career cut short because of foot problems.

Not saying that it's the same thing or that it's an issue right now but it does raise the level of concern.

This may also be the answer why Len's minutes have been cut the last few games.
I am such a lucky NBA fan. 8647 My favorite team went from the most greedy and racist owner to the most ego driven dumbass owner in all of sports fdt.

Only a fan of Arizona teams!

Goodwin said nothing wrong and I am with him. He doesn't have to like sitting on the bench!! He wants an opportunity to play and if the Suns won't give it to him, someone will. He can make a stink and get traded or just leave after his rookie contract is fulfilled. Dude wants to play and people have a problem with that.....wow!!

Why Suns are shopping Miles Plumlee

Miles Plumlee started 25 games this season at center and now we get word from ESPN.com's Marc Stein claiming the team is in the midst of shopping the young big man. So, how did he go from a starting role to a player on the trade block?

Stein writes: "Sources told ESPN.com that the Suns are working in conjunction with Plumlee's agent, Mark Bartelstein, to try to find a new home for the third-year center, who has seen his playing time steadily dwindle as the season has progressed."

Plumlee is now the third-string center after the Suns acquired Brandan Wright and over the last five games he's only playing 10.0 minutes. In the last two games he's only been given three minutes against Cleveland and nine against Minnesota.

Plumlee is signed through 2015-16, which is the fourth season of his rookie-scale contract.

The Suns now have eight wings (SG's/SF's) with the addition of Reggie Bullock from the LA Clippers, as part of the three-team trade with Boston, and management might combine one of them with Plumlee via another deal by the Feb. 19 deadline.

According to Stein, the Suns are asking for a future first round pick, which they likely won't get. Teams that might call the Suns include Dallas, Detroit, LA Clippers, LA Lakers, Milwaukee, Orlando and Sacramento.

Thanks.

Interesting list of teams though.

Dallas has no 1st rd pick. Detroit's is too valuable for them to give to us for a guy like Plumlee. Clippers are interesting. Lakers only have the Rockets 1st rd pick so I doubt they trade away their only pick for Plumlee. Milwaukee is interesting. Orlando...same situation as Detroit even though I believe the Magic have multiple 1st rd picks. Sacramento already traded its 1st rd pick to Chicago.

Something doesn't add up.

Suns beef up a very thin Len/Plum/Keef/Randolph frontcourt by adding Wright. Cool! Welikes!

Then within two weeks, the Suns swap Randolph for another re-redundant wing and wanna trade Plumlee for a pick? Even broadcast the want...And Alex Len's ankles are barking? AND! Wright is going to be a UFA after the season?

Thats your opinion and entitled to it.

Yes true and I don't expect everyone to share my opinion such as I don't share everyone elses. But I still like hearing/reading them and occasionally one's will convince/sway me. Otherwise a forum would be pointless.
Why I quoted you specifically though is to make a point that doubting Goodwin doesn't automatically mean doubting Len/Rookie XY.

In this case yes. Believe it or not I am actually one of the ones here that want the rookies to have way more playing time, because that is imo how they _really_ gain experience and improve, not practice and dleague. And I agree with what another poster said, and have posted it myself quite a while ago too iirc that giving players like Goodwin, Ennis, Warren etc only a few minutes here and there puts them under exponentially much more pressure to perform than allowing them to make their mistakes and learn from them.
I have at the most missed 15 games over the last three seasons, so I think I have basically seen all of Goodwin's minutes. Imho he is dead last on our depth/development chart (minus Zoran and Bullock obviously). I think developing Ennis and Warren is way more important and likely successful so for that reason I would deal Goodwin. When does that development happen? There is nothing the dleague can give him anymore. Any of our players would tear it up there, that's why they are NBA players after all. They need NBA competition to improve.
I will happily be eating crow if he turns out to be what some here think his potential is, but I don't see it and I don't see the minutes for him to prove it.

I respect that you differ in opinion but I wanted to let you know as to why I have mine and then maybe it doesn't sound so  anymore

Something's gotta give here soon.

-IT wants to start.

-Dragic may not stay if IT stays

-Plumlee wants a trade

-Archie is starting to complain

And to a lesser extent:

-Green wants to showoff his skills so he can get paid.

-TJ and Tyler are going to want NBA minutes.

The good news is that IT, Plumlee, and Archie, and draft picks can be an appealing package for a rebuilding team.
