I think back to the days we had a healthy Miles and Dez. I don't think we are that potent as far as wideouts. Maybe I'm underestimating Williams. One thing I do know is Witten looks slower and slower. He caught a pass on third and 8 vs GB. When he first caught it, there was a hole and It looked like he might score. The next thing I knew he was being tackled for a 12 yard gain. I love Witten and he is still a good player, but we need another option. They did use him more at the end of the year. As far as McClain- he is a good football player for those 3 hours on Sunday, but I'm just not sure he can be counted on. The guy is one odd dude. The defense needs to be fixed first, I agree but I wouldn't want to sacrifice offense for defense.
What does believing in Garrett have to do with it? Has he stated he wants Gordon?
Let's address your whole post. Miles is not the talent Gordon is, nor is he an alpha. Miles never publicly claimed he should be #1 Gordon will. Williams is more than fine as the #2 and he isn't causing waves.
Not quite sure what a aging TE has to do with Gordon, unless you think Gordon can play TE. If this is the case the pass rush will ends. Romo's season quickly.
As for McClain he cost us a 6rd pick which = low risk high reward.
There is absolutely nothing you can say that would get me to see the bright side to trading for Gordon. Odds are many will agree with me.
