I'm currently reading a book on Jordan's stint with the Wizards. Have read all of the books on his playing days (from Halberstam to Sam Smith's Jordan Rules to Phil Jackson's books, etc) but this one is entertaining in a way that you get a sense of his frustration when being part of the ownership which is especially interesting in our case with him now owning our team.

Here's a fun excerpt of him laying out his frustration at Rod Higgins, haha:

Start at the bottom of the first page. It gets blurry at places but I think you can understand everything.

I don't know if anyone's interested but here's some more stuff I photo-copied on MJ and Doug Collins ripping apart a rookie Kwame Brown and destroying his confidence.

I guess we can be glad that MJ's older and wiser nowadays. We wouldn't want the player/puppeteer-of-the-franchise-Jordan around MKG.

I'd like a one-on-one with Stephanie as well - would make an exception for a special midget addition.

Jordan apparently interviewed with multiple people today.

Barkley on falling out with MJ

When we talked last year you told me that Michael Jordan was upset with some of your criticisms of him as an owner and player evaluator. How would you evaluate your relationship right now?

Barkley: It is unfortunate. We’re not friendly, but I still love him. He’s doing a good job now. What is interesting about your question is Phil Jackson actually said the same thing I said and I wonder if he still speaks to Phil Jackson. I said Michael had to get rid of the people around him. You can’t have your friends working for you; you’ve got to surround yourself with good basketball people. He had not done that. I love what he did with Al Jefferson. I love him going out and getting Lance [Stephenson]. I love the kid Noah Vonleh from Indiana. He’s done a good job, but he had not done a good job up until then. It’s obviously put a strain on our relationship and we’re not together anymore.

Is it in Michael’s personality to pick up the phone and reach out to you?

Barkley: No (laughs). And it’s not in my personality either. (laughs). I’m not going to call up and apologize for saying what I said. They were setting the record for the worst team in NBA history and I said Michael just has to do a better job. He had to get rid of the flunkies around him and hire real basketball people. He does that now. They have been doing a great job since he got rid of his flunkies and hired basketball people. But he [Michael] can’t hear the good stuff.

MJ's heart is in the right place but I wonder if we can get where he wants to go with Cho making picks.

Saw something on facebook where Jordan was teary eyed accepting the award today. Good for him after all these years of being smashed as an executive.

Our drafting isn't the issue at all. Kemba, Biz, MKG, and Cody are all looking very solid.

Pretty hard to criticize MJ nowadays. He is doing a very good job. When I look around the league and see all these lame tech billionaires it makes me root for MJ to succeed even more. We get frustrated sometimes but its easy to see how much healthier this franchise is now compared to 2010 when MJ bought it. He's an underdog in the business world compared to pretty much every other owner in the league but he's still outplaying a bunch of them. A fun comparison is the other guy who bought his franchise in 2010. Mikhail Prokhorov.

Kwame said the stuff with mj was overblown. I believe him more than a guy who was a known mj hater because Jordan would not give him any interview.

Jordan pretty much wouldn't give anyone an interview, except his few select journalist who were likely to write a glowing piece.
