Why isn't Cousins on this list? He's younger than some of these guys.

I didn't actually realize he was that old.

Gorgui Dieng is a little bit older than most of these guys as well.

He was a part of the Melo trade if I remember right, he's been around for a bit.

Cousins is easily the best young center in the league. He's arguably the best center of any age in the league.

Len is better than advertised coming out of college. Noel has only played half a season. Embiid hasn't even taken the floor.

As a Rudy fan, I don't want him to gain any weight. He needs more strength in his hands/arms, so a little weight is fine in the name of getting stronger, but I don't want him bulking up. Hibbert and a few others will push him around a little, but his athleticism is a big part of who he is as a player, and I don't want foot/ankle problems haunting him. His game is superb and I don't want to risk injury trying to perfect it. He's good just the way he is.

Everytime the refs let them bang down low he's going to get pushed around. Mozgov, of all people, pushed him around the other night. The same thing happened with Zeller his rookie year. He put some weight on and started putting it together the second half of last season. This is the NBA though and skinny centers get marginalized pretty easily. He doesn't have to get fat like Hibbert or even buff like DeAndre. He just needs some rocks in his pockets.

Alex Len

Reason why Drummond isn't in the list is he's clearly better then most of the guys on the list, While Cousins is arguably a top 3 center in the league already

I like 25 year old Dieng, 28 year old Mozgov in the poll however

Then it probably shouldn't be called a best young center poll

I understand what you're saying, and I agree that he needs more strength, but some players are better off not gaining weight. Guys who make their living jumping are just asking for problems when they bulk up to try and be a banger as well. Rudy is a 7+ footer who jumps a lot, and bulking up could take that his best advantage away. IMO, it's just not wise to take an exceptionally athletic player and try to turn them into a banger. I'd rather play a banger next to him and capitalize on Rudy's unique capabilities, and take my chances against the few teams that could put two bangers on the floor against him.

If you could read you would see in the very first post that I explained this and later explained the Mozgov inclusion.

Among those listed, I like Gobert long term. I'm on the Stifle Tower bandwagon.

sorry, I didn't read the thread before I voted and made my comment...

read the poll, LOL'd at the inclusion of Mozgov on a YOUNG center poll... then wondered where 2 of the best young centers in the game were.

Did you think mozgov was like 22 or something?
and just totally forget about dummond and vuc?

Gobert looks like he could be a perennial 1st-Team All-Defense/DPOY candidate. Of the ones listed I think he has the best chance to have the best career
