But when those wheels get back turning again — and they will — there will be no shortage of suitors, and the Nuggets are expected to be among them. They’ve already made one run at it, but were rebuffed along with everyone else by the Nets in favor of negotiations with Oklahoma City, and those talks got intense before breaking down.

For the Nuggets it could be an opportunity to unload center JaVale McGee’s contract, which is an expiring one next season. That’s also part of the problem. It’s not expiring this season. And for any team to take that on right now for a player the caliber of Lopez, there’s probably going to have to be a first-round pick involved and or/young player with sizeable upside included as well.

The offers Brooklyn receives as the trade deadline nears will be interesting. The Nuggets must decide how badly they want to be part of the Lopez sweepstakes and how much is too much to offer.

I would take McGee if we could get a draft pick back, or another player like Afflalo. McGee + Afflalo or McGee + 1st rounder and I'm set.

Something with Meyer Leonard and T-Rob would work

Lopez cant "carry the load" for a nets team in desperate need of offense trying to get the 8 seed.

how is he going to carry the load on a portlant team gunning for a top seed out west?

To make our trade needs even more intense, Mirza had blood clots in his lungs... so we are now EVEN weaker at the PF position. We need to fix this roster ASAP or we're going to have blowouts day in and day out.

Also, now more than ever, Bogz needs to get his **** together

Best wishes to Mirza, that's some scary **** man.

That said, two things:

1)Jefferson will need to be allowed to play, and play through his mistakes.

2)King has no choice now. Trade Lopez and get us a PF/SG package.

How high are you on McGary? Would something small added be able to net him do you think? Like Bogdanovic or Karasev?

Trying to see a trade where we net Thad and Lance for Brook. We need that to happen badly.

Does this work in any way?

Has Perry played much PF? I was under the impression he was mostly used on the wings.

Either way, wouldn't really mind this package now that I think about it. They both bring some much needed shooting, athleticism, and youth. Don't really see OKC giving up anymore than that anyway.

In regards to McGary, the Thunder are really, really high on him. We passed up several other guys that most teams liked more to pick him earlier than most thought he would go. In summer league, he was a revelation (I know summer league, but still... it was obvious he was a man among boys). I think he would be getting rotation minutes if he weren't hurt all year.

As far as Perry Jones goes, he's a SF/PF tweener. He can and has played both positions. Most Thunder fans will tell you that he's our most underrated player and someone who SHOULD be getting regular minutes, but we have a logjam of talent at SF/PF with KD, Ibaka, and Collison getting all those minutes.

But just for a taste of what Jones is capable of, check out this video. When KD, Russ and Reggie were hurt at the beginning of the year, Perry Jones was our #1 option. And he looked brilliant.

That's the deal I've really wanted.

If OKC was/is offering them and Perk, it should be done immediately. King needs to wise up and pull the trigger.

Lopez and Jack for Lawson and McGee

gives us a starting point guard and some comedy relief off the bench

gives the nuggets some low post scoring and a decent point guard to replace lawson with

Always been a Ty Lawson fan. However, with the disarray this organization is in-- would you need any more drama if Lawson was brought in only to get arrested for more drinking under the influence incidents? Would he be worth the risk?
OKC Thunder fan, too.

I would absolutely take Lawson here if that was on the table! And I don't care about McGee as long as he comes off the bench for KG 25 minutes a night and rebounds every night.

Sometimes guys just need a change a scenery and to hear a new voice to change their attitude and style. That stuff really can go a long way.

This team is about to become legendarily hopeless if a trade isnt made. They have struck out on just about every move they made for the future except for Plumlee. The Euro picks both stink. JJ is spent and has mentally checked out, Dwill is a dog, we have no picks. Saying all this they have a valuable center that playoff teams in the west want.

I hate to give up Lopez but it has to be done to save this franchise.

Trade him for athletic players and maybe a 1st rnd pick if we get lucky, get players that are exciting and competitive to watch. Let all deals that cant be moved expire, hope that Brown, Karasev, Jefferson have something and dont go after any max players for the next 3-4 yrs. Build slowly and the right way this time. Hopefully the new owners understand this.

Go after players with talent that are just in the wrong situation.

Harkless in Orl should be on our radar.

Gordon and Holiday in NO dont work well together as a backcourt. Nets should really explore that situation for Johnson or Dwill. Either of those players on this team improve us due to their athleticism. A Gordon type off the bench is what this team needs, hopefully brown can turn into that.

Really curious what the Suns are going to do with Dragic Green and Plumlee. They really dont need any of those 3 that team is so deep. The Morris Twins Bledsoe and Thomas make them go and Len is a huge surprise.

There are options for a smart GM to make some team saving moves without giving up Plumlee.

My wishlist:

Kg waives no trade clause goes to Minny or Thad. Minny buys him out, he signs with the Clippers or whoever.

Trade Dwill for Lin and Nash. We get rid of a terrible contract. Kobe is out for the season dont know why Lakers would do this but I can wish.

Trade Lopez to either Cha for Lance and Henderson, or OKC, or NO.

This team is in the worst place possible for a franchise to be. No star players, no cap space, no picks, no buzz, just limbo.

http://basketball.realgm.com/tradecheck ... de/6560007

Charlotte gets: J Lamb, J Jack
Charlotte gives: Lance Stephenson, B Roberts, cash

Charlotte does it to get rid of Lance.

OKC gets: Lopez, B Roberts, A Anderson
OKC gives: Reggie Jackson, J Lamb, Perkins, Morrow

OKC is trying not to up their deal but I think they will by the trade deadline. Reggie is likely to be moved because they arent going to resign him. They want Lopez for their playoff run. They have gone as far as they can without having someone who can score in the post.

Nets get: Lance Stephenson, Reggie Jackson, A Morrow, Perkins, cash from Charlotte
Nets give: Lopez, J Jack, A Anderson

Nets want to trade Lopez and Lance is the best they can do. Eventually Billy King will come to his senses and take him. Reggie replaces Jack as the backup PG and serves as an expiring if the Nets choose to move on from him. Im not a Morrow fan but the Nets need a 3pt shooter. Perkins is straight salary dump. All in all, the Nets take on about a million dollars in extra salary that Charlotte offsets with cash they send. Next year the Nets save close to 11 mil in salary. I also think it would allow them to do sign and trades. If so they can sign and trade Reggie to whichever team wants him.

As happy i've been with the general ability that JJack has shown, I would do this trade in a SECOND. I doubt a trade that nice could happen, but I like Jackson's game... Lance has energy and grit we need, Morrow and Perkins are filling needs.

Honestly... I JUST WANT A TRADE, ANYTHING TO SHAKE THINGS UP! THIS ROSTER IS A WALKING CORPSE AND I CAN'T STAND IT ANY LONGER... I'M JUST SO EMBARRASSED THAT THIS IS THE PRODUCT WE'RE PUTTING ON THE COURT
