Might as well go ahead and shut it down. Play the asset game, and trade Al and Lance for draft picks/young players/expiring contracts and let Kemba rest up for next season. Let MKG, Biz, and Zeller make names for themselves. Hopefully Kemba is going to be on the short end of that time scale, but I don't want a Westbrook-type scenario where he misses out on half of next season too

I cant see that happening since Walker has been practicing and played a few nights ago, Westbrooks was a contact injury during a game.

Thats Brian Windhorst last season on Patrick Bevelery. Considering Walker has been able to play on it lately im not expecting him to miss the whole season.

Correct. I remember Beverley returning in the playoffs as if nothing happened after a few weeks and he's fine now.

The selfish part of me want Kemba to get that mild surgery where he return in a few weeks but the conscious part of me think that he should shut it down for the season and get the procedure that'll take a few months to recover properly without rushing it.

The difference between the roles of Kemba and Beverley on their teams make it worth being cautious. This team depend on Kemba's scoring too much so he'd be pushing that unhealthy knee to its limits only for us to get bounced in the 1st round once teams double him.

Ron Artest returned after 7 days.

There is a camp surrounding Kemba that believes surgery needs to happen right away. According to QCH’s source, there’s also a camp that believes Kemba can continue to play without surgery right away.

Although Kemba may be able to play through this injury, it is certainly understandable why there is a contingency advising Kemba to have the surgery now – the team signed Kemba to a contract extension of 4-years, $48-million in October of last year.

I wonder which camp is who.

Uh, he needs to have the surgery. Like, immediately.

Has anyone else other than Perry reported this yet? Just kind of odd that woj or even Bonnell hasn't tweeted about it yet.

Cho telling Kemba to shut it down. Kemba ruined his stealth tank with his hot streak from December to January. Cho prolly can't fathom going into the 2015 draft without a lottery pick to take on another project. Lol

Agreed. If there is a chance it could get worse or cause more long term problems then he needs to be fixed up now.

I tore my LCL, ACL and meniscus at the end of may last year. After staying off it for the first two weeks I was running 10kms (6.22 miles) a day 6 days a week all the way up to my first surgery (Jan 9th) - I literally ran 10kms the night before my surgery.

My surgery ended up being arthroscopic AND microfracture. The post op recovery has been a BITCH. Super painful and uncomfortable plus I am on crutches for 6 weeks - which SUCKS in the snow and the ice. Now I get to go back and met with the surgeon again this Wednesday to see if I need a full knee reconstruction as well.

All this to say that if Kemba can play through the pain I'd say do it. Put the surgery off until April.

Im sure they are weighing all possible options right now thats why nothing has came out officially. But it seems like hes dealing with 2 issues. a cyst which I have one myself, doctor told me surgery was recommended but optional its also in my face not my knee and im not a professional athlete. and the miniscus tear. Does anyone know which of the issues the recommended surgry is for?

probably both, fix the meniscus and remove the cyst. if you're going to have surgery might as well fix everything in one go

The cyst came about because of the tear in the meniscus that opened up that gap that allowed the fluid to form the cyst. They are basically one in the same injury if I'm not mistaken.

Really anxious to hear a time table on this. If Kemba opts for surgery I hope they can do it asap to shorten the return window as much as possible. Doesn't sound too awfully serious, but it would be good to get it cleaned up and out of the way.

Definitely needs to get this fixed asap and do whatever needs to be done to completely fix this, even if it means missing the rest of the season. We are obviously pretenders with Kemba so I dont see the point of him playing through this.

Not doubting Spencer Perrys sources, but no one other than him has tweeted anything about Walker having surgery. Beginning to have slight doubts.

Has anyone seen anything other than basically a glorified freaking blog writer state that Walker needs surgery? It's getting pathetic at this point.

They must be weighing options. Not really something that professional writers should just be throwing out there until they know the facts. 1: it can possibly cause a uproar and 2: if he doesn't end up geting surgery they will look like complete idiots and will lose all credibility as a writer.
