I was watching the Thompson game live earlier, the score was tied 60-60 when he just started going off.

For a second I thought I was playing NBA 2k with the sliders up, looked down and realized there was no controller in my hand. Pure video game mode.

Beal will never be as good as Thompson is now.

Holy crap! 37 points in one quarter! He never missed!

I've never seen a guy "in the zone" like that before. That was ridiculous.

Thompson was discussed in the draft threads, the discussion then was that the org was not going to touch him because of his then weed problem. Erie was still in clean-up mode from the Gilbert era. But man what colossal fudge-up Ernie did on that draft, set us back for half a decade easily.

I think if the Wizards got Thompson/Leonard and Faried/Butler, it's likely that the Wizards would have been less horrible in 2012 and it's unlikely that the Wizards would have gotten Beal. But yeah, I really don't know how EG didn't lose his job for that pick. He's done an OK job since.

Right. But we wouldn't have needed Beal because we had Thompson. We would have slipped a few spots in the draft and ended up with the 8th pick or so, where we would have picked Drummond. And our 2nd round pick would have been a bit lower too. With Satoransky off the board, we would have had no choice but to grab Draymond Green.

We would have done better in the 2012/13 season with Drummond and Thompson, but they're still young so we probably would have missed the playoffs. Instead of picking 8th (and jumping to 3rd in the lottery), we would have picked 14th or so. That would leave us with Antetokounmpo! In 2013/14, we would have made a playoff run similar to what we did last year, but since we never traded the pick for Gortat, we would have had the 17th pick in the draft last year. This last summer, we would have let Ariza walk and signed Pierce, but used our Ariza TPE to sign Isaiah Thomas. That would have left us with the following lineup:

Wall/Thomas
Thompson/Thomas
Pierce/Antetokounmpo
Green/Nene
Drummond/Nene

plus whomever we drafted in last year's draft.

Jordan Clarkson is officially the Lakers' starting point guard.

Good job Grunfeld. We have a 38 year old point guard who looks slow and broken down, but that cash was sure important.

That Thompson video is disgusting. Reminded me of Gil when he got in the zone

Finished with 12 blocks in 25 minutes off the bench. That has to be a record.

So much better than Seraphin.

Thompson would have been nice. I don't remember many people talking about him here during the draft though. He certainly should have been picked though. Still, not sure if the Wizards would have been bad enough had they taken Thompson and Faried. I also don't think the Wizards make the trade for Nene (although maybe it is possible).

Whiteside powers Heat with triple-double
Dwyane Wade scored 26 points, Chris Bosh finished with 20 and Hassan Whiteside had unconventional triple-double to help the Miami Heat beat the sluggish Chicago Bulls 96-84 Sunday. Whiteside had a career high 12 blocks to go with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Luol Deng scored 15 in his return to..
.

Green green green with envy. What lucky bastards. Ernie doesn't look so-bad because all the other teams rejected Whiteside's overtures this past summer.

OKC is on the 4th game of their road trip, no?

CLE is improving, and Mozzy does help, but I wonder how long JR remains this productive. I have my doubts. LBJ does seem to be rounding back into form.

It can be argued that he is better than Gortat and Nene. Neither of them could get a triple double like Whiteside did--the blocks are rim protection that relies on quickness.
