Overreacting

Post#1 » by Tenchi Ryu » Sun Jan 25, 2015 10:22 pm

Looking through the post game thread and over the last number of weeks you see this statement at a decent rate, and its truly baffling to me now. I could understand back in late december/early january when the slump just started, but its now been a month of very bad basketball. I think its perfectly understandable fans and posters are starting to explode cause this team hasn't looked like a championship ball club at all IMO.

So for the people who feel others are overreacting or being negative, what exactly is your breaking point until you can't stay calm anymore?

Being angry isn't an overreaction.

Wanting to blow it all up and deem Thibs a crap coach is.

I don't think its necessary to explode because the team hasn't looked like a championship caliber team. They have looked like a good team and that is a solid expectation considering Rose has been on a rollercoaster ride of peaks & valleys, shaking off rust, fatigue and injuries to Noah, Dunleavy, McDermott, Rose, Gibson, and banged up Butler.

I haven't seen many people call 'overreacting', but for whoever has, I agree with you.

Because we're not entirely privy to the inner problems they've got going on right now, there's a lot of speculation left, right and centre which can get a bit far fetched at times, but it's hard to know how to react to all this as a fan right now so I don't blame them.

All I know is this group is capable of playing title level basketball together - we've seen it with our own eyes, and there's no reason that with the players we've got we can't return to being an elite team defensively as well. There's some minor holes that could do with addressing, but that isn't the crux of the issue. This group is the group we're going to be riding with with for the foreseeable future, and need to work out whatever problems they're facing and get focused on playing hard-nosed 'Chicago Bulls' basketball again.

I don't feel the post game threads are over-reactionary in any way at all. The team is playing terrible basketball and has been since New Year's. They look nothing like a title contender, and this team has title aspirations.

Eventually, this thread is an invitation for fans to rip other fans for their opinions. We cant be sanctioning this. Have your opinions. Express them. Leave others alone if you disagree and dont want to debate.
