Re: Bradley Beal - Part II
The amount of times beal turns down a half contested 3 pt attempt for a fully contested mid range 2 pt attempt is insane. Just shoot the money ball Brad!

I don't hear any mention of... we have to have fun out there... like he used to do.
He sounds more gritty to me. He is maturing. I bet Paul Paul has something to do with that. He still has so much upside at only 21.5 years old.
Here the thing. I might have to go back an watch the game again because, I wasn't seeing a great game from him. I guess I was focused on his offense. Seemed like a MEH game. Then he hit that dagger and that seemed to me to push him over the edge to a good game. But a great game ? I didn't see that.
But.. he did lock down Jimmy and that was huge. Jimmy was 2-12 so yeah.. that was a great game from him.
He has a way of having really good games and sometimes it doesn't look like it just watching the game. Then you turn around an some how he is 6-12 and 2-4 and I'm like... how did that happen?
Yep, we forget that 1/2 the game is defense. He had to switch off on several different players - but it seemed like he did that very well. You have to give him props - now can he string a set of really good defensive games together. It would be really great if he could do that, we could be an exceptionally good defensive team.

Re: Bradley Beal - Part II
post OKC game.
Man, Beal was off last night but the good news is, he isn't off like that very often... specially from 3. That was his worst shooting night of the year and it came at a bad time. Wizards showed they can hang with OKC and thats a good sign.
He still managed 8 rebounds and 2 assists
Just wish he would get to the line more when his shot isn't falling.

Post game interview. He takes the blame. He is a mature young man.

Re: Bradley Beal - Part II
^^^^Yeah, my boy Beal has been struggling with his shooting lately, especially with his midrange jumper which consistently comes up short. Thus far, BB is not having the kind of breakout season most of us hoped for.
But Beal did make several nice hustle plays last night against the Thunder---steals, rebounds and keeping loose balls alive...so I have to give him props for that. And he continues to work hard on D.

He was working hard on D last night - not very effective but the hustle was there - and that should lead to improved performance. And yes, not at the top of his class - yet. Nivek's rankings:

Re: Bradley Beal - Part II
TNT is doing their unveiling of the East and West All-Stars and during this segment, each person (Shaq, Chuck and Kenny) goes over who they would take for reserves.
Shaq put Gortat AND Beal as reserves.
I love me some Gortat and think Beal will eventually be a good player.....but what the hell is Shaq smokin'?

Shaq is stupid, Gortat is a good per 36 center, but Beal is a season or two away from being in the conversation as an all star.

Re: Bradley Beal - Part II
beal has to step it up...
hes not even a top 10 sg THIS YEAR
his % from 3 is good...but hes has the greenlight to be the top scorer considering wall is still looking to pass ans nene is our best post defender
I still have
harden
Thompson
ellis
v.o.(kid been playing)
jimmy
wade
matthews (defense is better)
derozan
Korver
I dont care about his age this is 3yr and hes playing next to the best playmaker in the league.
to not be a top 10 sg right now is bad,
i dont even thinks hes a top 5 contributee on the team when you look at what rasual has been doing for us..
Once a again im looking at his impact THIS YEAR,
dont care about potential or what he can do later, this team is perfect for him to succeed

Re: Bradley Beal - Part II
He is suppossed to be like a young ray
He is nowhere near what Ray Allen was even at his age,
Ray Allen could handle the ball, was smooth to the basket, good passer, he was a capable ball handler
Beal reminds me of Mclemore, both cant handle the ball well...they can do one move and that is it. Meaning one crossover and jump shot or one crossover and to the basket . They are not smart ball handlers.

for 1
it jus sucks because we should be that unstoppable team rigjt now...
nene hav been playing well and consistently
gortat has been ummmm gortat
we have pierce who been a good help
rasual has been monster for us this year off the bench
seraphin has had his problems but has been a scoring machine
even humpries have been playing well
for 2
we couldbe had harden instead.... (imagine that)
for 3
we need a star between otto and beal, considering thats the last time we'll see the lottery for a long time...
and lastly and most importantly
klay thompson jus put up 37 in a qtr, I think beal career high is 37...
(yes this the real reason I made the post)

Beal is essentially a 3pt specialist who doesn't take 3s. That's the best way I can sum his current game up as.

I don't think Beal gets enough criticism on here. I witnessed the barrage of criticisms and trade proposals when John was struggling in his second year. IMO Brad is playing even worse than John ever played.

I think the difference is that Wall makes a bunch of positive plays plus a bunch of negative plays. It's easy to remember those negative plays. Beal doesn't make that many negative plays. When he has a bad game, it's usually because he is invisible, not because he is killing us.
There is no doubt that Wall is a much better player than Beal, though. It's no contest. I'm starting to lose faith in Beal. I think he's going to pan out to merely be a modestly above-average SG. He's no Ray Allen. At best, he's the next Hersey Hawkins.

There's nothing wrong with cashing in Beal in the right deal. But I don't see EG doing that, so I'll just hope that Beal becomes more than I think he will.

Or the other way to look at it, he is a young player that hasn't had dramatic improvement over the last 2.5 seasons. Next season...

Nope. That's not going to happen. There's no chance EG and Ted completely blow up the team and try to rebuild around some 19-year-old draft pick.
If we trade Beal, it's gotta be for someone like Cousins or Kevin Love or somebody else who is already an established star.

Well, sure. I haven't given up on him. But his current game isn't good. The dude hasn't cracked a PER of over 14.3 in his 3 years. And it's not like he's an exceptional defender to make up for this.

but then again he could've traded a 18yr unproven draft pick for a busding star in harden, maybe the best guard that fits wall offense
lakers already trade they picks to the suns anway..
but man what couldve been
wall
harden
ariza
nene
