A 2nd round pick that floated around for a while who eventually did enough work and lucked into a good opportunity that is working out for him.

Yeah. I think I can expect that pretty easily.

The bigger question is.... Will Solomon Alabi ever show up again ?

Acceptance that Ernie said no to Whiteside and Miami said yes.

I was his biggest fan a few years back... Whiteside looks like what Javale would look like if he actually treated his ADHD.

I get treated for a mental health issue.

You know what McGee said perhaps in one interview and you know Shaq tin a fool highlights. Dat, Javale IMO has a right to be his own best healthcare advocate. ADD and ADHD are diagnosed by clinicians. There are many different treatment models. Evidence-based practices give a spectrum of what works and what has not been proven to work. Personally, I think having an intellectual deficit isn't a thing you can take a pill for. If I told you my IQ, Dat, perhaps you have a higher one; but I guarantee you that you can not take a genius pill.

Javale McGee is a young man who never played with veterans like Okafor, Nene, Gortat, or Gooden. The best coach for him got fired 11 games into McGee's career. (Right after making the playoffs Eddie Jordan got fired. Javale McGee had started for Jordan because Haywood was injured.) McGee hasn't had a proper mentor. I suspect, however, like Kevin Seraphin; he is what he is.

I have taught every age from adult military seeking college credits (college algebra) down to kindergarten (as a substitute teacher). I have taught special needs kids, too. I always have liked Javale. First of all, because I remember the Sports Illustrated that had his mom and her twin sister--two attractive ladies who could hoop!--but more, because he's genetically very gifted to play basketball. I have a soft spot for Javale because he reminds me of students that I've taught.

About Javale: When the USO brought players like Derek Rose, Tyreke Evans, Mike Miller, and the Lopez twins; Javale McGee came along. He was extra accessible and friendly. My sons and other youth got his autograph. He really cares about ordinary folk and he's about as nice as can be.

Every time Shaq makes fun of him I think FINE, Javale McGee is making his money! Good for him.

McGee has leg issues that must be career threatening. My thoughts on him are if he's healthy, before his career is over he is going to be the focal point of a winning team IF a coach can limit his role to what he does naturally well.

Right now I am watching Michael Jordan, Kwame Brown, Tyronn Lue, Bryon Russell, and Jerry Stackhouse vs the Lakers in MJ's last game. BRENDAN HAYWOOD, Jahidi White, Christian Laettner, and Bobby Simmons were also on the squad.

(Compare to current Wizard roster!)

Kobe, Shaq, Rick Fox, Derrick Fisher and the rest on the Lakers network, Fox Sports West. Kobe just scored the Lakers last 23 points. .. and it's still the first half. (IIRC Bryant scored 55 this game).

Edited to add 42 first half points for Kobe!!!

It's been a great day!

Every GM in the league could have had him if they wanted from the sounds of it. And both SAC and MEM actually did at one point.

On November 29, 2010, Whiteside was assigned to the Kings' D-League affiliate, the Reno Bighorns.[7] Whiteside was recalled back to the Kings on January 9, 2011.[8]

On March 5, 2011, Whiteside had surgery to repair a partially torn tendon in his left knee, which sidelined him for the season.[9] He only appeared in one game with the Kings during his rookie season.

In January 2012, Whiteside was assigned once again to the Reno Bighorns of the NBA D-League.[10] On February 4, Whiteside was recalled to the Kings for the second time.[11]

On July 16, 2012, Whiteside was waived by the Sacramento Kings.[12]

On December 14, 2012, Whiteside was acquired by the Sioux Falls Skyforce.[13] On January 4, 2013, Whiteside was traded to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in exchange for Damian Saunders.[14] After the D-League season, he joined Amchit Club in Lebanon.[15]

On May 26, 2013, Whiteside joined the Sichuan Blue Whales (NBL) in China. He played 27 games averaging 25.7 points (56.4% shooting), 16.6 rebounds, 5.1 blocks, and 1.4 steals per game. He was named Defensive Player of the Year, Center of the Year, and was selected to the All-NBL 1st Team. The Blue Whales went undefeated in the playoffs en route to the NBL Championship. Whiteside was awarded Finals MVP.[16][17]

In November 2013, Whiteside signed with Al Mouttahed Tripoli of the Lebanese Basketball League.[18] He was released in April 2014.[19] The next month, he joined Jiangsu Tongxi of China, before leaving them in June after 17 games.[20]

On September 25, 2014, Whiteside signed with the Memphis Grizzlies.[21] However, he was later waived by the Grizzlies on October 22, 2014.[22] On October 30, 2014, he was reacquired by the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. Two days later, his rights were traded to the Iowa Energy.[23] He officially joined the Energy on November 14, 2014.[24] On November 19, he re-signed with the Grizzlies.[25] However, he was waived again the next day.[26] On November 22, he re-joined Iowa.[27]

Yep, I had Marshall rated as being worthy of a late 1st or early 2nd round pick. The Wizards had two second round picks that year. I wanted them to take Wolters with the first one and Marshall with the second. Both guys had late 1st grades in YODA. They traded up for Glen Rice instead.

Speaking of Nate Wolters ... :D

Nate Wolters happy Pelicans are picking up another 10-day contract on him

Minneapolis – The New Orleans Pelicans already have let reserve point guard Nate Wolters know they plan to keep him around for at least another 10-days.

Wolters couldn't be more pleased.

Wolters, who said he now is familiar with much of the Pelicans' offense, played his most significant minutes in Wednesday's 96-80 win against the Lakers, logging 22 minutes while scoring six points, getting six rebounds and two steals.

The Wizards should have been the ones to claim him off waivers IMO.
