That's why a big part of me will breathe a sigh of relief if nothing happens as boring as that will be. But I agree.

Well if you need to know the time, just look at my signature. May help pass the time.

I have no idea what's going on with Lamb, but I found this sad and funny.

Re: Trade Targets
I give this Celtics blogger guy occasional grief on twitter.
He's pushing his new piece tonight about how valuable wins will be for the young Celtic team
http://bostonceltics.about.com/od/Colum ... h-wins.htm
Talks about how banner 18 can be a result of winning culture that Smart, Sullinger and Bradley are getting now.
I don't have the heart to tell him that banner 17 was a result of tanking. And that many of the guys on the Celtics roster before the banner 17 team was assembled weren't part of "banner 17" at all.

I've never been that high on Lamb. But if he came really cheap I'd probably take a chance on him.

Re: Trade Targets
With K. Walker being out for a while I think we could trade Knight there for Zeller. I don't want Vonleah because he plays the 4 and Parker will have that next season. We then would have to trade for a PG.

Voleh is 6'11 250. He can play "center."

I feel the easiest way to sum up Middleton is that he is a poor mans Richard Hamilton in every facet of the game. He moves very well off the ball, always rubbing tight off screens set for him, rarely any wasted motion. He is a good shooter from mid range out to 3pt territory. He can finish at the rim, but lacks the athletic ability to finish above the rim. Like Richard, Middleton is a decent on ball defender, but Middleton is still a little green on the team defensive side of things.
Middleton still has room for growth, but as said above, both his strengths and weakness's make me think of a poor mans Richard Hamilton.

Banner 17 was not a result of tanking, it was a result of a rash of injuries and the trading of old washed up vets. They did not lose intentionally, they just began a rebuild period understanding their current core had nothing. They then got anxious and made two very big "win now" moves, and lucky for Ainge, they worked, or instead of being looked at as this sort of savant by many, he would be looked at as an epic failure who traded youth for vets.

You want to be a winning team right?
Then you need at worst a very good 8 man rotation. Whether or not Giannis becomes our PF/C is a big question mark, but is most certainly being looked at, especially considering Giannis is putting in a ton of time every single day working on his post game.
Back on topic of the 8 man rotation. If you have Giannis, Parker, and Vonleh at your forward spot, that is one heck of a high potential 3 man rotation at the forward position. Both Giannis and Parker can play the 3 and 4, and Vonleh can fill in at Center if absolutely needed. We could do something like 34mpg for Giannis and Parker, and then 28mpg for Vonleh at forward and 6 mpg for him at Center.
Obviously, this is all assuming that Vonleh pans out and becomes what he has the potential to be, which is a much larger question than Giannis and Parker are.
I am one of the biggest Knight fans on this forum, but if you told me we could get Vonleh for Knight, I would have to strongly consider that trade. The upside for Knight is 1 or 2 time All-Star, the upside for Vonleh is perennial All-Star if he can begin to realize that potential. The other part of me that is okay with this trade is yeah, it may mean we fall to 9th or 10th, landing us a pick in the 10-13 range, where we can take one of the 3 guards that appear to have All-Star potential.

2007 called....they want their year back then.
http://www.landofbasketball.com/results ... eltics.htm
2006-07 Boston Celtics
In 2007, with Greg Oden and Kevin Durant as the big lottery prizes, several teams were openly questioned about apparent tanking, including the Boston Celtics, Milwaukee Bucks and Memphis Grizzlies, the three teams that ended up with the best chance of drafting Oden or Durant.
In one notorious game late in the season, the Celtics, playing at home, led the woeful Bobcats 69-51 late in the third quarter -- and managed to lose the game by eight points, enhancing their draft positioning. Of course, Celtics coach Doc Rivers denied tanking charges. As Steve Bulpett reported in the Boston Herald: “Rivers insisted there was nothing sinister about leaving Paul Pierce (game-high 23 points) on the bench for the fourth quarter and letting the quintet of Sebastian Telfair, Ryan Gomes, Gerald Green, Allan Ray and Leon Powe stay on the parquet as the lead -- still at 10 with nine minutes left in the game -- disappeared.”
In the final week of the season, the Celtics and Bucks, both maneuvering for the best possible draft position, played each other and gave DNPs to high scorers Paul Pierce, Al Jefferson, Wally Szczerbiak, Michael Redd and Mo Williams.
After the game, the Associated Press reported:
Ryan Gomes had 13 through three quarters, but watched from the bench in the fourth as Boston clinched the worst record in the Eastern Conference and second worst in the league.
"I probably (would have played), but since we were in the hunt for a high draft pick, of course things are different," Gomes said. "I understand that. Hopefully things get better. Now that we clinched at least having the second-most balls in the lottery, the last three games we'll see what happens. We'll see if we can go out and finish some games."

You are entitled to your opinion PP, but do not believe everything the press pushes down your throat. I believe it was 2-3 days later that the Celtics confirmed with medical proof that Pierce had a legit injury sustained in the 3rd quarter of that game mentioned in the report you shared.
