The Heat didn't win it all until they were forced to play small ball after Bosh went down with an abdominal tear in game 1 of the 2012 ECSF against the pacers. Lebron moved to PF, the team thrived. This Cavs team is obviously very different - they have real size and they clean up the glass, but Lebron at the PF spot creates so many mismatches for opposing defenses. With this win streak, now isn't the time to tinker, but what do you guys think of super stretchy, hyper athletic line-ups like this
Kyrie-Shump-J.R.-Lebron-Mozgov
Shooters everywhere, incredible speed and athleticism, multiple ball handlers and defenders, and a rim protecting big, who can rebound his a** off.
Also, I admit I was weary when the trades were first made, but the additions have looked amazing thus far. To think we basically got all 3 for waiters is kind of shocking. Can't wait to see how scary this team looks with 40 games of continuity under its belt. Im just happy to see this team play with energy and enthusiasm, and we haven't even really begun to utilize K Love to his full abilities.

We added the Memphis pick. Mozgov is much better than I anticipated. JR is shooting well. He won't forever and people need to measure their expectations a little.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

IMO the Heat flourished going small, but it was with Battier defending the opposing PF most of the time. When Battier fossilized on them last season, they still tried to go small, but couldn't defend at the same level with Rashard Lewis, etc, in there.
If LeBron wants to operate in the post, he certainly can with Love and Mozgov in the game because Love can camp out at the 3pt line and Mozgov has some range out of the post as well.
So when would we really need to go small?
Maybe if Love is getting killed by a smaller/quicker PF?
Even then, we can still go with Tristan and don't forget Marion who's played a lot of PF in his career.

what's a good all-defensive lineup we could use?
