And does anyone know the law pretty well?
Aiding and abetting? I know if someone like robs a bank or kills someone and you are chilling in the car waiting for them (but didnt do anything) you can still be charged as well for the same crime. Dont know if it applies to assaults or anything that would be involved in this case, but it could be a possibility.

As Coro said: No police report or charges filed yet.
If the twins left the scene of the crime before cops came and there are no videos floating around or eye witness testimony, then it could come down to "he says, she says" even if there is physical evidence. Even if the twins are interviewed now, they will at least have lawyers keeping them from saying anything incriminating.

Yeah. I'm not going to worry about it until a police report is at least filed, and even then I've read enough police reports to know how unreliable they are. Disappointing that they can't seem to control themselves this year though.
Sucks that it does impact trade value though. I was really hoping Green and one of Marcus/Tucker got moved by the deadline. Green because he's not coming back next year for anything I'd want us to pay, and one of the SF's because I believe Warren catches one of them next year and I don't want $5 mill on the books for a 3rd string SF.

With the NFL starting to crack down on sexual assault, this could Silver's opportunity to show that he means serious business in the NBA as well.

This is the second time you mentioned "sexual" assault. The Morris brothers had nothing to do with sexual assault. If any of this is even the slightest bit true, it's just straight up assault. And I'm hesitant to believe anything until it's 100% proven.
Also... how did Marcus beat the **** out of someone enough to send them to the hospital, in supposed really bad condition, without having any indicating marks on him. He definitely didn't look like he kicked someone's ass a few days ago. Unless he used a hypothetical bat or something.

Meh. 3-game suspension, anger management classes for 6 months and that's it.

Re: Official Trade Thread: The Block Is Hot!!
Even if this situation is exaggerated, I don't like these guys being involved in anything like this even in the slightest. They already don't seem that bright and they already show too much attitude on the court (good too, but I'm talking about the bad here) so getting into precarious situations like this isn't a good thing at all and the last thing I want is for them to run with "entourages" and get in trouble at clubs and **** like that. Last thing I want for them and for the team. It's stupid and it's not Phoenix Suns.
Let's hope nothing comes of it.

Not one person has really said what's happened other than Marcus assaulted someone while Markieff intimidated witnesses from recording the altercation. Does anyone here know why? I don't believe the "Mom" stuff that's floating around.

Re: Official Trade Thread: The Block Is Hot!!
Sounds like separating them is better than keeping them together. They can't cause as much trouble.
If this turns out to be true, I sense we'll find a way to get out of Marcus' contract. Maybe a buyout.
He could get 20 games to the season depending on a lot of variables.

If there isn't a police report this will indeed be a war of words on what happened.

Well, may be we trade a couple thugs for a pot head ?

if any suspensions come from this, either league or internal, it could accelerate/prompt a trade for another PF. I have not seen too many MoBro trades proposed.
The Bros are going to have to grow up someday, and perhaps there is more to this attached at the hip syndrome they have going. It is.... creepy (?) at times.

I worked with a guy for a while who went to KU, and he said he heard some VERY BAD stories about the twins and that they were NOT good guys...they are punks. I've never given it too much thought, but I thought I'd mention it.

Prosecuting attorney Babbler will cut right to the truth, he's a trial lawyer FCS. Judge McDo will preside. Jury ?? RSarver of course. This will be a swift trial. A long drawn out distraction would be very detrimental to the season. The punishment (if warranted) will be quick, decisive, and hopefully fitting. Worst case could be a lengthy or indefinite suspension. Desk duty w/pay.
Factors Lon will want to know :
Was it a random in the heat of the moment occurrence or premeditated ? Did they go seek this person out to rough him up? Was it an excessive beat down ? Who instigated the violence ? Was this self defense? What was their relationship with the victim? How extensive was the effort to stop videoing? Was there intimidation of witnesses? Was there an attempt to cover this up with payment? Why no police involvement? Was there alcohol involved? Is there remorse ? Will you pee in this cup ?
Seems like there could be some serious variables in this equation, with serious repercussions for both Bros.

Plus, there is a good chance that this person was going for a big payday by really trying to get into a fight with Marcus. Not that it excuses it, but this happens often.

I've heard the same thing from friends of KU insiders/players. Heck, the lip service started early. Didn't Keif jack some smack about DWilliams(?) in the final four? I hope this doesn't turn into some serious charges. If the Bros started this, it would be hard to find sympathy with Two 6'8" big tatted dudes beating down on a regular Joe. Especially two with documented aggressive behavior/anger issues*. Tough court room image to hide. A double Technical.
*PS.... you would have to find non suns fans for the jury

What do tattoos have to do with anything? How do you know the alleged "victim" was a "regular Joe?" There are plenty of large people with ink that are not professional athletes.

While they did not say much besides and investigation was taking place that could have involved the Morris brothers, I wanted to share what I know from my sources. This past Saturday there was a basketball function at a gym in Phoenix and the Morris brothers were in attendance, since they knew one of the coaches. It is alleged that at one point the twins chased a guy outside by the soccer field and Marcus got into a physical altercation with a male. Someone close to the situation states that Markieff was not involved in the altercation, but just kept the few people that came around back and that Marcus was the one involved in the physical altercation. It is said that the male ended up going to the hospital following the altercation. It is also said that police are investigating the situation. I have been told that a personal matter is what led to this alleged altercation.

My old roommate's brother went to KU and heard the same stuff as well.
I brushed it off though because these guys were kids back then I figured they'd grow up.
His brother didn't think the twins would pass the drug tests in the NBA and would be out of the league sooner than later.
