Utah's GM was waiting patiently for the Melo situation to clear up, ready to pounce on King. King was calling them up about someone else and out of the blue their GM offers D-Will.
King's face was probably like "...um...uh, sure!"
It was a good trade idea in theory and back then people valued Deron over Melo. So, I can't criticize King for wanting to make that deal considering I would've done the same. Besides, It wasn't trading for Deron that put us in a hole. It was the garbage that King did afterwards.
