The 30 minute stat is good, but just look at how we played when he was out with injury it's just about impossible to overstate how much MKG means to this particular roster. We're one of the worst teams in the league without him, easily, because our offense is atrocious and our top-5 defense is the only thing making us borderline respectable.

I agree with JDR, MKG absolutely needs to make an All-Defense team this season assuming he remains healthy and the impact stays consistent. I doubt he will because it's a popularity contest, but how many other wing defenders can make a roster go from 25th or worse in defense to top-8 simply by being inserted back into the lineup?

* In those 8 games, MKG averaged 12.1 points on 45% shooting, 10.9 rebounds, 2.5 assist, and has a offensive rating of 108 to a defensive rating of 95 for a net rating of +13.8 with him on the floor

MKG 4 MVP. MKG for more minutes. Let Clifford know.
while i agree 100% with you, Clifford also only plays him 30min+ when MKG is playing really really well

None of our players play good every game. Clifford don't limit Kemba to 20 minutes when he's 2-10 so why should MKG be treated differently. The things that MKG excel at in a game are pure effort and more consistent than the chances of a stepback jumper at the buzzer.

Agreed. Cody played like crap on offense vs the Heat but his hustle gained him crunch time minutes.

MKG is the only player on our team who can make a positive contribution while shooting 20 percent from the field.

This guy is our MVP.

It'd be just our luck that it would be on the Warriors.

MKG finally up to averaging double digits in points. 10/7 isn't too shabby.

Minutes per game could stand to go up to at least 30 MPG. He's been hovering around 24-26 minutes since his rookie year. For a player that's as much of a impact as he is towards winning on a team that lack quality depth, it's borderline harebrained

jump shot is much improved, still struggles from left elbow and behind FT line, but the other 3 midrange zones are close to 50%

if he can finish in the paint like he did perviously in his career, shouldn't have much problem averaging 12+ppg

Gotta find minutes for Neal.

That chart looks like something I would see from an average center with slight range instead of a SF.

That's what happens when you go looking for contact at the rim and expect a whistle for your efforts the majority of the time. Kemba and Gerald have the same issue. (Gerald is actually great when he commits to going to the rim though... he needs to do that more but I gave up on him years ago)

Me neither. That would be my biggest criticism of Clifford.

Yep, there is absolutely no excuse (aside from foul trouble) that MKG should not be on the floor 30-35mpg minimum. He (along with Kemba) makes a dramatic difference for us when playing and we often see a steep decline when he sits. Clifford has to see this, he must just rationalize it as something else.

Oh Cliff see it and he rationalize it alright. He rationalize it with irrational stuff like "look, we needed more scoring on the floor and I felt like Neal and Hendo on the wings gave us a better chance at doing that. you gotta understand we were just trading shots with with [insert team] and we needed more firepower". All the while no reporter reply with telling him that we didn't start losing until MKG went to the bench.

MKG needs to learn to go around people rather than straight through them when he's heading to the hoop. It seems like he picks up a charging foul every single game.

He needs to work on a hesitation turn around and a pull up jumper, it would help him a lot. He already has a pretty nasty Euro step, he needs to use that more too.

I though he had a concussion for sure last night with the way he hit his head on the floor. I figured with our luck he'd be out a couple weeks.
