Were fine as far as future goes. We just lost out on our playoff hopes more than likely. Which I'm fine with as well. Nothing wrong with adding Winslow or Johnson too the team on draft night.

Re: Pistons future not looking too good
This season isnt looking bright anymore, the the future has looked alot better than it has in a LOOONG TIME.Not only is dumars gone,we dont have to worry about him spending that cap on areas were we dont need it.We actually have a coach who knows what hes doing and hopefuly stays here for a long time.we have some pieces to work with, and hopefuly can suck enough to get back a high-ish pick.Ho0nestly what iam starting to worry about is andre and hoping he figures out hes bigger and stronger than most centers in this league and needs to dominate on a nightly basis, the raw/young/on a rookie deal excuses wont last much longer and he needs to get it together soon.

No more Dumars...
SVG..
Cap room...
Roster flexibility as far as contracts...
Young pieces..
Draft pick...
Drummond(who yes deserves his own category lol)
Plenty of things to look forward to in our future! Nowhere near as bleak as the OP makes things out to be. I will continue to preach patience with our youngens...I think people are getting a little to quick and big for their britches on here, myself included at times. Give these kids more than a half of a season with SVG and we'll see where we stand.

No one has even mentioned "No Josh Smith"?
We will get a couple of good free agents and a mid-high draft pick. And everyone will have had a year with SVG. We are on the right path - we just got spoiled for a few weeks and became delusional. This will take some time.

Fans always overreact. Both ways. We weren't as good as we looked a few weeks and things aren't as dire as they look right now.
It's a process. No question there is a lot of work to be done but we're heading the right direction for the first time in almost a decade.

6 losing seasons and nothing to look forward too next season
??????????????????????????????????
The team with healthy BJ, we were bound for the playoffs maybe a first round upset, but definitely going home early. This was probably ideal because we'd start building a winning culture with the youth at the forefront and more importantly experiencing the playoffs early and developing. The con was our 1st round pick would be more mid-round to late round
This current team maybe can sniff the playoffs but more than likely is headed for the lottery. HOWEVER this isn't a bad thing. When this season is over , the most important thing is that our franchise players logged minutes, and developed. Dre maybe not getting force fed like some may hope, however SVG is also trying to instill discipline. IMO Dre needs to earn his play time. i am confident in SVG.
After this season
We have a ton of cap space to add pieces
We more than likely will be 8-9th pick if not better and draft a SF(Kelly Oubre)
We still have Dre
We still have a great Head coach
We may still have BJ
We still have KCP
We still have Dinwiddie(who is looking more and more comfortable)
hang in there bud, i know the struggle is real

Re: Pistons future not looking too good
The pistons future is bright because Dre is slowly "getting it" on defense. He's had all sorts of foul trouble trying to adjust to a more aggressive and physical role, but his rebounding per 48 and blocks per 48 are on the way up. He's actually blocking about 25% more shots per 48 than before. If he continues to improve, he'll be dominating the paint and really changing games on that end.
