CP3 Selected as All-Star Reserve
I'll probably be as mad as I was last year when Matheny decided to start poverty Wainwright in the ASG last year over Clayton Kershaw.
that's a 10/10.
No person of his esteem needs to be this disrespected and have this many LESSER PLAYERS stated as being better than him.

I'll be glad that another one of our players gets a week off to rest, personally. The All-Star Game is pointless, especially when Durant ruins it every year with his desperate attempts to stat-pad for the MVP.

Re: If Chris Paul Doesn't Make the ASG...
I'd appreciate the fact that he would get a few more days of rest if he doesn't make it, but I want him to make the team. Paul wants to be on the team, and I'm all for Clipper players being represented. The ASB is a little longer this year, so he's going to get a few days off no matter what.
Competition is deep as usual, but a couple of spaces have opened up. Some guys are elevating their games, while he's staying consistent with his career averages for the most part (although his percentages & ratios have been phenomenal). Still, his play is a level above most of them. The coaches should do the right thing even if the TNT guys disagree.

Personally, I kind of wish Blake didn't get voted in either. I'd rather have the rest of the West's top players waste energy and risk injury in a meaningless exhibition game while all of our players get some much-needed rest during the February gauntlet.

When's the last time anyone was injured during the ASG?
Whatever they say about being able to rest, Blake and CP would be pissed not to be a part of it. I really hope Chris gets voted in.
Too bad DJ doesn't stand a chance. He'd be amazing in the game and dunk contest.

Re: If Chris Paul Doesn't Make the ASG...
Maybe when Wade broke Kobe's nose? But Kobe was just hurt, not injured. So yea.
It's really just a pride thing. It's a cool thing to have perennial all stars on your team, something I was never used to growing up as a Clipper fan. Plus it seems like CP is the guy people like to pick on when it comes to things like this nowadays. Now every up and coming PG is better than him. -___-
But….I don't mind the rest as was mentioned before. The league ALWAYS gives us that TRAP Spurs home game coming off the All Star break and they always walk in and kick our teeth in. I want to win that this year. I feel like whipping our ass has spring boarded the Spurs hot 2nd half runs the last 3 years and I aint havin it this February 19th.

DeAndre Jordan can still get in as a commissioner's choice. With injuries to LaMarcus Aldridge and Kobe Bryant, he might get in.
But for DJ to get in, CP3 must miss the All Star Game. It is the only way for the Clipper's Big 3 to be legit. A Big 3 must consist of three All Stars on their roster. Clips only have two with Paul and Griffin. If DJ makes the All Star Game, then and only then can they be called a Big 3.
As I said earlier in the season, Chris Paul must give up being a superstar and become a role player. Missing the All Star Game so that a more needing player can get in qualifies. DJ needs this more than CP3 does.

Re: If Chris Paul Doesn't Make the ASG...
I'm pretty sure Chris will make the team. Kobe is injured so there's at least one extra spot open for the west.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

ASG's are meaningless fluff so it'd make no difference to me (save for all the delicious drama) if cp3 didn't get in.
that said, if it flipped some kind of god mode switch on with him, i'd be all for that.

this season would be great for him to tap into that 2011 Dirk level.
you know the, "I'ma superstar but I'm actually just going to be a little more than that in this playoff run" mode.
yea, if this inspired that. Please snub him.

oh yeah absolutely. dirk was the best player in the playoffs that year and the main reason they won. would love for cp3 to find his inner dirk.

Re: If Chris Paul Doesn't Make the ASG...
He's making it comfortably, he was going to even if Kobe didn't get hurt. Coaches might get caught up in the popularity contest some times, but they're not gonna be impressed by scoring outbusrts like casual fans do. I don't think there's a coach in the league that considers guys like Lillard or Klay Thompson to be in the same tier than Paul, not even Westbrook probably.

^youd like to think so, but coaches do award players on teams that are in 1st or 2nd place.

And Blake likely would've won last year until KD went into chuck bricks mode and the West lost.

KD making it is a joke. He has missed more games than he's played. Allstar talent, but shouldn't be there this year.
