They finally return home to the friendly confines of the Verizon Center where YOUR squad has posted an 18-6 record.
The Toronto Raptors are coming to town and they have climbed into a tie with the Wizards in the East for the 2nd seed. They will be on the 2nd night of a back to back after visiting the Nets on Friday night. The Raptors have been energized by the inclusion of Demar Derozan back into the rotation. The defense has come back alive and Kyle Lowry continues to amaze with his All-Star season.
The Wizards have played bad basketball lately. Getting down by 19 at the Lakers and then by 22 at the Suns only to pull back and win at LAL and lose at PHX in games of 2nd half runs. The Wizards 2nd unit has become a weakness with Butler regressing to the mean, Professor Miller showing his age, and Seraphin turning it over and fouling. Otto Porter and Kris Humphries provide hope.
The Wizards have also been dominated by the Raptors in recent history. The Raps have won 4 of the last 5 vs. Washington including an utterly dominating victory in November at the Air Canada Centre. Can the Wizards finally play a game of chess and adjust their lineup to attack the Toronto defense? Or will Wittman continue his stubborn ways of having his bigs clog the lane and make life hell for his guards with literally no spacing? Will Bradley Beal or John Wall drive to the basket and get to the free throw line? (hint: the answer is a resounding no)
Let us hope that the Wizards can finally prove they belong and beat an Eastern Conference contender not named the Chicago Bulls.
