Scouting Report
Giants: Tim Lincecum has struggled in his last three starts in which he's combined to allow 16 earned runs in 14 2/3 innings pitched for a 10.41 ERA. The rookie is coming off his first Major League loss and his shortest start of the season against the Blue Jays. Lincecum allowed seven runs, five in the fourth inning, over 3 2/3 innings and said he lost his composure on the mound. This is the first time Lincecum has had to deal with a stretch of bad outings, but he was confident he can turn it around.
Brewers: Sheets struck out seven Tigers in his last start, joining Teddy Higuera as the only Brewers pitchers to top 1,000 career strikeouts. But he surrendered three runs in 5 1/3 innings in his shortest start since a three-inning stint against the Cubs on April 25, snapping Sheets' scoreless-innings streak at 22 2/3 innings and his consecutive "quality starts" streak at eight. He has a 2.84 ERA in five career starts against the Giants

Captain Erv's Thoughts: Coming off a close victory, the Brewers will look to take the second game of a three game series against the Giants. We have our "ace" of the past month and a half on the mound against the struggling youngster, Tim Lincecum. Hopefully Sheets will continue his dominance on the Giants anemic offense. Lets get this one so I can keep doing game threads!
