and you arent getting two teams who are competing for the last playoff stop to trade with eachother. one of the two GM's will turn out looking like a fool.....and if its McD, based on this fan base's response over the past 8 months the majority of us would be calling for his head if we dont make the playoffs.
Getting the 8th seed is a directive of BoobySarver. The marketing/ticket department has to be losing sleep. Our stands are not full, nor active. Its an dismal atmosphere, coupled with extremely annoying attempts to energize the fans. Its F-n plastic. (granted, this is a TV observation) The good attendance nights are not from more Suns fans... its the opposition's fans that fill the empties.
8th seed to me looks like death by Grizzly or death by warrior.
Light the fuse....
The reason for these problems is because $arver decided to make our ticket prices the 5th highest in the entire NBA, with absolutely no reason to do so.
The teams ahead of us have extremely good reasons to have such expensive tickets
Knicks-It's NYC, Melo, celebrities
Lakers-It's LA, Kobe, celebrities
Cavs-LeBron, Kyrie, Love hype train
Bulls-It's Chicago, and they are good and have a household name in Rose
Our ticket prices are higher than every other team. Every damn one of them. Warriors, Mavs, Clippers, Nets, Blazers, etc. are all cheaper. This is a horrible idea IMO and horrible business to make ticket prices so insane when you are a borderline playoff team in a good but not great market with no marketable stars and a dead home arena and you can't get even close to filling the arena up. It is bad. Our atmosphere sucks, and players can feel that. I'm talking about players not just from the Suns, but other teams as well. I don't know the numbers or anything, but I would actually assume that if the ticket prices were lowered enough so that we sold out games then $arver would make MORE money because of all the extra ticket sales. Our arena sucks too, but that's another story.
