Can't find the quote right now but posted it on the Celtics draft board a few days ago. There was a tweet saying he is expected to come over next year.

that's probably his best position

Well that lowers his ceiling to Chandler parsons type player. As a shooting guard his upside is significantly higher.

don't get so caught up in positions. Basketball is not really a game of positions. More of a game of roles. There are Ball-handlers, Wings, Bigs, stretch Bigs, Rim protectors, etc. this guy is a wing.
there are those rare players that can fill many roles effectively...
the "position" he plays does't really affect his ceiling.

I know it might be considered an outrageous comparison but I see a lot of Klay Thompson in Mario Hezonja strictly from a play style basis. Not saying he'll reach the same level, but he has the upside to do it as well.

I definitely see it. They move alike and have that same aggressive attitude.

Another 12 points in the Euroleague for Mario. Unfortunately his 3 point shooting was not at his usual level as he missed all his 3 point shots. But he made up for that with everything else.... He even had 4 steals, while the rest of the team had just 3 :D

4/5 for 2, 0/3 for 3 and 4/4 FT.

24 points on 8 of 8 from 3-point territory and 6 assists in 23 minutes. His stroke is really a thing of beauty, just effortless and at his size he can get it off pretty much with ease even with man in his face.

8-8. For real? A video of this would be great.

He made some fantastic passes out of pick and roll too.

On the right side there are all the 3 point shots from this game.

He looks like Joe Johnson to me, not as smooth yet, but he is getting there in the midrange game.

They are very different players. Hezonja is way more athletic than Joe Johnson ever was but the latter is stronger.

If he was in college he would be the no.1 pick.

I think if Hezonja were in college, he would be rated ahead of Stanley Johnson and perhaps on the same tier is Mudiay, but that's just a guess.

I am not that high on him to be honest. His physical tools are overrated IMO. He is really not that fast nor THAT athletic for the NBA guy, his wingspan appears to be quite short. His Isolation skills aren't that great either. Young Rudy Fernandez was more impressive IMO, more fluid and more skilled. And we all know how Fernandez turned out...

Hezonja did improved his 3 point shot quite a bit, shoots over 40% this season. So, I think he has potential to be a great shooter, ala Klay maybe, but thats a big if.
