LoL I did I trade Lowry and DD for Westbrook and morrow. Then thunder made a counter offer.

Lowry/DD/hansbrough for Westbrook/Morrow/j.lamb

I accepted lol

If OKC doesn't know this already they are just stupid, they truly messed up the moment they traded Harden.

I almost expect to see an OKC interested in trading for Vasquez story soon. It can be OKC's "desperately acquire the friend of a departing star" move a la Jarrett Jack signing here to help keep Bosh. That kind of stuff never works but GMs often think it will. Either way, they aren't moving Westbrook but I think Reggie Jackson will be moved without a doubt regardless of if this story is true. They're not keeping him beyond this season.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

I'm all for Durant but I'm not giving up Demar or Lowry.

Despite Westbrook putting up better dunks and numbers than Lowry, Lowry brings leadership and class that Westbrook doesn't, not to mention Lowry signed for a cheaper contract than Westbrook will be after. It's a similar case with Demar and for his contract, it's almost unbeatable.

Miami didn't sign the big three to max contracts, they all had to take a paycut to make it happen. The fact that we have two all stars not on max contracts gives us the opportunity to sign another player for a max.

Get to work Drake. Or do we need to get Biebs involved?

Westbrook chucks his way to those numbers. Sure he's more athletic than Lowry (and therefore a better finisher), but I don't feel he would add many more wins (if any) to this team. They're simply different types of players.

You are not giving up either Demar or Lowry for KD? I would trade both of them for him instantly. KD + JV > our whole current roster if you get a new coach

This trade not only doesn't work because of team chemistry but OKC straight up robbed you

Lowry being a much better fit for the Raps is more like it, Westbrook once put up Lebron-like numbers, I'm a Lowry fan but you live in denial if you think Lowry is better than him.

You can't deny Westbrook's talent and physical attributes, but I'm not a fan of his game nor do I think it's conducive to the kind of system-play that leads to Championships. He's extremely frustrating to watch.

Anyways, this is all moot. Durant is going to Washington. He hasn't even been really subtle about it.

You could make the argument that they are similar in terms of impact, or that Westbrook is even slightly better, but when you factor salary and play style into the equation, it becomes clear who the better fit is for this team (and most mature rosters in the league, really).

If you can get Russ for Lowry + filler then you have to do it. Westbrook is a superstar player but he's always been a bad fit with KD.
Lowry is tame by comparison and would allow OKC to continue to have allstar level impact at the PG position while also leaving more financial room to deepen the team.

From our perspective, Russ is a guy who can takeover a game and win you a playoff round (he's done it before). Lowry, as good as he is will not have that impact. That final play in game 7 last year, if it was russ driving to the basket that's likely a foul and free throws or Westbrook simply rising above Pierce for a pullup. Russ may actually work well with Derozan who should be option 2 anyways and with the way Demar has been facilitating they could be a nightmare for opposing teams.

Btw, I think Durant goes to Washington at the end of the day. Wall is the pass first version of Westbrook that Durant is missing.

*Edit: Also, to the op, giving up both Lowry AND Demar for Russ is way too much. Both in terms of talent given up and also because OKC is clearly on the verge of desperation.

But that's his downside.

No thats his backside.

Lowry's upside is mental and psychological.
