Michael Beasley an option?

Post#1 » by Manili84 » Mon Feb 2, 2015 3:57 pm

Beasley is done in China as the season has ended. Maybe an option to upgrade the Bulls' SF position? Thoughts?

Yeah, lets put the dealer in the locker room. That should end well.

Thibs will barely play "Ray" much less play a known knucklehead like Beasley.

The only thing is that he really isn't an upgrade, not to mention that he's also a headcase.

Until the Bulls figure out how to play well with the guys they already have, I don't even want to see any moves made, especially for guys like Beasley who would just be added fire to an already burning fire of discord & inconsistency.

It's already been tried on other teams. Didn't work. He's in China for a reason.

Regardless of Beasley's mental issues, he doesn't seem to help the problems we currently have [3 point shooting and defense].

If the Bulls are not going to play McDermott, I don't see why not. It's simple to me, Beasley is a better basketball player than players in the Bulls rotation. He's by no means a savior, but he'd probably outplay Snell, Hinrich, and Moore by a decent margin. Not to mention, Beasley will be on a good value contact.

The Bulls can't continue to be blinded by perfect scenarios, and then play the who knew card when players perform well elsewhere.

Hinrich & Snell aren't in there to shoot the ball. They're in there to play defense. Beasley is a worse defender than even those two, which is saying a lot.

Beasley is a scorer. So unless Beasley is better than Rose/Butler/Gasol, he's not an upgrade.

If you're saying we should replace defensive players and go all offense (mostly), you want a different coach. Thibs has to have some no-offense defensive guys in his lineups. If he was OK with going with mostly offense Brooks would have replaced Hinrich eons ago.

No, Snell and Hinrich are in the rotation to knock down open looks. They just suck at it so people try to lean on their defense. I haven't been impressed by Snell or Hinrich in any facet of the game.

This is so anti-Bulls to do. I'd be willing to look at this, see what kind of shape he's in (not sure how much you really have to be to ball in China). But then again, Bulls would never bring him on board.
Kris Bryant will go down as the greatest Chicago athlete after MJ

edit 7/30/21: okay maybe not, but it was a fun ride nonetheless

It's funny because we have a lot of pro-beasley and they always brought that option every month in the Heat board
He is very talented but his defense just sucks so he wont have the favor of coach Thib

I agree with Doug. There are certainly situations where I would be open to adding Bease to the team, but this isn't one of them. He doesn't help us with what we need help with.

He was 50/50 to get a non guaranteed contract this summer in the NBA. I think it's a stretch to say that he's better than anyone in the NBA.

All players should be able to shoot, especially guards. Just because they suck at it and we have nothing better on the roster doesn't mean it isn't part of the job description.
