When does Beal get his? Or does he still have his "Get Out Of Jail Free" card?

Gortat's box score numbers were down in January too, though. I haven't updated since January 23, but here's his season average on each of these update dates so far this season:

Code: Select all

DATE    PPA
11/10   181
11/18   186
11/24   170
12/3    175
12/8    179
12/17   178
12/23   178
12/29   173
1/6     158
1/14    157
1/23    160

Gotta say I'm pretty dubious about that RPM number, though. The Wizards are better on offense and defense when Gortat is on the floor. He's 5th on the team in offensive on/off, and his primary backup (Seraphin) is a) at the bottom of the heap in offensive on/off among (the team was worse offensively only with Rice and Webster), and b) the team is 8.0 points per 100 possessions worse when Gortat leaves the game and Seraphin enters.

Virtually every lineup featuring Gortat is a net positive for the Wizards.

Kevin Seraphin says hi.

No -- not on/off, I'm talking about on-court only. So, when Gortat is on the floor, nearly every lineup has a positive scoring differential. Nothing to do with Seraphin -- strictly a measure of what happens when Gortat is on the floor.

I would say there were times last season where he deserved this thread as well though. He is what we all thought he is. An average center with size.
