UFC Fight Night 62 (3/21): Maia vs. LaFlare

Post#1 » by CPT » Thu Jan 22, 2015 12:54 pm

Faber vs. Assuncao

Within a month of Dillashaw vs. Barao II, so safe to assume the winner gets a title shot. Unless TJ and Faber win and both fight each other. Or Barao and Faber win and nobody wants to see Barao smash Faber again. Or Barao wins and they decide to make Barao/Dillashaw III, because of course they will.

Oh man, if Assuncao is healthy enough to fight, he should totally be fighting Dillashaw imo.

Raph will beat Urijah. Hes improved leaps and tons since their 1st fight while Urijah has regressed. He had trouble with Ciscos counterpunching and it doesnt get much better than Raphs for counterpunching @ Bw. He lit up Dillashaw with them too and hes undefeated @ Bw so far. He has good kicks and knees too and his grappling is amazing only reason he got choked by Urijah was he was behind and did a really risky move that gave up his position. Honestly outside of Cruz since hes injured Raph might be the best Bw in the world. Baraos porous defense in footwork got exposed by Dillashaw and Gagnon. Barao is a dangerous finisher but hes not as complete a fighter as Raph and he would beat him IMO. Tough to say with Dillashaw their 1st fight was close but i thought Raph won it. Dillashaw didnt improve as much since their fight to Barao as ppl think.

That's 9 main events changed in 2015 I believe.

There were 14 changed all of last year.

I feel like the UFC jinxed themselves with the calendar unveiling back in Nov last year.

The UFC needs to fund a study/class for their fighters on how to train hard without getting injured.

Faber vs. John Lineker should be what happens here. Or Marlon Moraes if WSOF is willing.

Not sure either guy takes that fight on short notice. But, I'd be more than fine with it.

I think the only way that fight happens is if they do a catchweight of 140. Also, I kind of think Faber is done, unfortunately. He hasn't looked too good to me in awhile.

I know some real badasses who teach boxing fitness classes. Hard, unrelenting, dudes with lithe musculature.
