Barrett has clearly been the guy Vince wanted in that spot for a while now. He only drops the belt when he's hurt then comes right back and wins again. He doesn't stay healthy long enough to put him where it appears they eventually want him doesn't look like they're gonna give up on that anytime soon though. Just wish they put that same dedication into some of the other members on the roster.

Yeah, I feel the same, as a general rule.
Though I'm conflicted because I feel the disconnect could be a couple things.
We hear all the time about Vince's business instincts and how he'd never leave money on the table, but we watched him do that with WCW. At the same time, there's a uniqueness to NXT, more intimate, smaller smarky crowds, things translate differently and it's hard to extrapolate it to the main roster. Then again, they're tweaking over/legit gimmicks in NXT for the main roster, like with Ascension and this rumoured Mighty Mouse thing. That screams of main roster executive meddling, but with Adam Rose and Emma who were brought up as-is, their appeal was lost in larger arenas, so maybe these gimmick tweaks are Vince's reaction to the trend of callups not connecting. I'm so confused.
The network rollout was botched and apparently that's Vince's baby. It's uncanny how poorly it was rolled out... couldn't confirm availabilities in countries, no adds at first and then they add them, promoted it via insulting their audience and accusing them of being cheap, killed off their PPV business forcing them to rely on a struggling house shows market, had to offer free months and they still aren't anywhere close to their target. My God, it's not a stretch that the person behind all of this would also mess with NXT callups. I'm so confused.
I'm not entirely sure how it would work, but at some point you have to think an executive board could take a vote and say he's ruining the company. We need to take away his power to make decisions.
I've heard the McMahon family owns the vast, vast majority of shares of the company I think 83% was the number I read. So unless the McMahon family gets on board with it (which isn't happening), there's zero chance of it happening.
And even then, these people don't care about anything but the bottom line financials. They're much more concerned about getting another corporate sponsor than if WWE does an effective building up Dean Ambrose or Bray Wyatt. Now, I can sit here and make a case at how the two are tied together but my case is long term and they only care about the next quarter. And yeah the WWE network hasn't performed at the level that they had hoped and we can point to all the ways the roll-out has been bungled and I certainly have. But there biggest mistake was still over promising on the numbers they were projecting. I don't know where they got the numbers they got but I actually think, there voodoo math aside, based on what there weekly viewership is and the demographics of that viewership there network numbers are actually pretty good.

I completely forgot to watch last night so I'm catching up on my lunch break. Finn vs. Kidd to start the show is fantastic. Kidd has really found his niche. He has gotten REALLY good.

I was going to say this exact thing! If he doesn't watch it, he'll be a fan favorite very soon. His current work reminds me a lot of what DB did as a heel.

I'd agree with that. He's doing good actual heel work, which a lot of guys can't really pull off. I think it's because guys like Kidd and DB understand wrestling in all areas. They get the psychology of it all. When the crowd started chanting "Finn's gonna kill you" and Kidd then turned the tides and started mocking Finn saying "come on, kill me Finn". I couldn't help but smile.
On a different note, I feel like Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch aren't going anywhere unless their characters get a pretty significant change. Banks I feel like she just needs to get some new gear and stop with the Spencer's (novelty store in the malls across America) accessories. Lynch just isn't connecting with me at all. I know she can wrestle pretty well, and her current character is better than that mockery she debuted with, but still there just isn't enough there to make me care.

I think that's the point of Lynch at this point. Banks was the same when she was with Summer Rae. When Sasha moves on, she'll move into a bigger, more defined role.

Sami Zayn sells better than possibly anyone I've ever seen.
I also just caught myself being a child when wondering why Owens' nose isn't healing quicker. For just a split second, I forgot that these are taped 4 at a time.

Re: NXT Thread 2 (The Day I've Been Waiting For)
Can I say a little bit of sacrilege, I think Ziggler's a little overrated as a seller. Actually let me rephrase that, because he is very good at selling but his style seems to be taken from HBK of the big, exaggerated bumps. And I think there's absolutely a place for that, I loved the way Rock would sell the stunner. But, like Michaels, Ziggler sells like that way too often. I've always preferred the Bret Hart style of a lot more subtlety based around the guy selling a body part, even when he's on offense. Zayn falls more into the latter category.
Really good episode with the two bookend really good matches and a great angle to close the show. I was curious to see the Baron Corbin match because we've seen Bull Dempsey in some longer-type matches but this was Corbin's first of any length. And I've read a couple live event reports and they say he's done pretty well in longer matches but I was not impressed with him in this one. Not a big deal by any stretch, but I can see why they've protected him so much to this point because other than his finisher he looked so mechanical in there. Bull Dempsey, who is no Lou Thesz but does have a lot more experience than Corbin, the biggest difference between them was that he looked so much more fluid in all of his movements than Corbin did.

I loved Morrison as a seller, especially towards the end of his WWE run.

Agreed 100%. I love Ziggler as a performer but he sells everything as if it were a death blow. He bumps better than probably anyone, but every time he gets hit with any sort of offense you think he just got murdered, which lends itself to being a little too unbelievable.

Pretty cool episode tonight. Won't spoil anything for those who might still watch tonight.

Re: NXT Thread 2 (The Day I've Been Waiting For)
There is no doubt in my mind that NXT Takeover will be better than the Royal Rumble. I thought they may do an angle where Owens puts Zayn out for another while and the winner of the #1 contenders tournament takes on Owens but now I guess that idea is gone. Finn vs. Itami next week is going to be great. I love those KO shirts. I may buy one.
