Motie is a solid defender, has great post game, can space the flor, play C or PF. We get another pick to trade for a superstar, Houston gets a great secondary ballhandler, relieves Harden a bit and a servicable big man. Terry is sallary filler.

I doubt we can get anything better for Dragić. After that we try and trade for an allstar at one point, with the talent and picks, as iso ball with IT and Bledsoe will never get us anywhere (my personal belief).

Whatever you say. I guess you would be comfortable going forward with IT as our stating PG? If not, what makes you think others will? Look around the league. PG is a well filled position. There is a stable of good, reasonably young PGs we will be watching for the next 4-5 yrs. Look at the way its evolving too...guys 6'3"-6'4"+ keep coming until the league. If they are short, they are usually solid stocky guys ala Bled Lowery Lawson Smart. Guys who can muscle up on D.

IT has a place, but he is a 6th or 7th man in, and his job is to score. He is a no D pop gun for hire. There is a market for that, albeit small. Defend him all you want, and its not that I do not like him, I just don't see a big demand for him. And IMO, he is a borderline unnecessary signing/acquisition, that may end up costing us Dragic.

Yep. When we first drafted him, my first thought was that he was nothing special physically. average PF height, average athleticism for a big and not particularly long. To be fair though, Goodwin has an usually large wingspan, almost Wade-esque (6'4 with 6'10 wingspan).

I think Tobias Harris is a guy we might target, good rebounding/scoring F who could play next to Kieff or Tucker.

Very young as well and seems to like the ball in crunch.

How we'd get him is the problem

Well, yes thats EXACTLY why Markief is so valuable IMO too.

Its like Dragic's last 2 seasons... his numbers for the amount of money he is getting paid is GREAT.
But next season if Suns sign him for MAX money, his value drops. In essence Dragic should aim for Tony Parker money or slightly less, but he will likely not... he will take the highest offer which is how the league operates these days.

Markieff at 7 million is very good value... but had he signed 10+ million, he falls down to the mid-pack of slightly overpaid PFs list.

Yep. When we first drafted him, my first thought was that he was nothing special physically. average PF height, average athleticism for a big and not particularly long. To be fair though, Goodwin has an usually large wingspan, almost Wade-esque (6'4 with 6'10 wingspan).

Yeah, there's several guards in the league with better wingspan than Kieff.
Marshon Brooks 6'5 7'1 (not in the league anymore)
Jordan McRae 6'5 7'0 (late draft pick by 76ers this year)
James Young 6'6 7'0
Allen Crabbe 6'6 6'11
Tyreke Evans 6'5 6'11
Jeremy Lamb 6'5 6'11
Harden has the same wingspan than him.
Lance, Gerald Henderson, Jordan Adams and Alec Burks is really close to him.

Looking at Plumlee's measurements, he has even lower standing reach than Kieff

Maybe at 12 to 14 million, at 10 million he's still a bargain. Looking at salaries going forward, even at 10 per, he's likely to be considered one of the biggest steals in the game in 2 years.

A 6-10 wingspan is HUGE for a guard! That's one of the reasons why Goodwin is such an intriguing athletic prospect.

If the Suns are to go after a free agent in the offseason for me it would be Draymond green I don't think the warriors can afford both Harrison Barnes (Who would also fit our system and be an upgrade from PJ) and Draymond green. Draymond could play the 4 in our system and improve our spacing to the level it was at in 2013-2014. Spacing is decent this year but the nice wide open spread out half court offense was perfect for our guards to run around and helped limit turnovers in 2013-2014. Im not somebody whos like "We need a stretch 4" but Draymond is a better defender than Markieff, and more of a spot up 3 point shooter, and Draymond is a better rebounder. Obviously Keef is the better player but I think Keef would make his biggest impact coming off the bench, and would be easily the best 6th man in the league. To me Keef is our most valuable and consistent player at times when he's right, he could start on easily more than half of the NBA teams but he could be that additional punch off the bench to aid those slow 2nd quarters which we have seen to much this season and be our go to guy late, he is obviously the guy we feed late in the post for a bucket he will still get his 35 minutes but draymond would just improve the spacing, defense, and rebounding, and him and Keef could play together late in games with the 3 guards Markieff and Marcus last night really struggled to grab a board. Keef would also be a killer 6th man as we saw in 2013-2014.

3.PJ Tucker(Warren will take this spot eventually but PJs energy would be nice off the bench)

5. Alex Len(whos going to improve in the off season).
bench: Isaiah, Keef, Marcus, Wright, Goodwin, Warren, (and possibly another big to replace plumlee.
I dont see Green here next year I think he was a great fit but IT came along and its just to many guards to get the ball to.. all 4 cant go off, and I think the 3 pg thing would work with improved spacing, a versatile defender, and a great rebounder. Draymond would be a glue in this system just like he is at Golden State.

This team isnt as far off as you think from being scary, with Alex Lens, Goodwin's, Warrens improvement. and a offseason move to add more forward depth a all around forward like a Draymond. Talent wise our bench, youth, guards are that off from a Blazers or Warriors team? One piece like a Draymond would really make this team complete on offense and defense. Just wait til Len develops and archie gets 7 or 8 man minutes, along with Warrens potential in this league. Draymond I swear would be huge on this team just like he is on the Warriors, without him they would be no where near this good.


But I doubt the warriors give him up that easy, Draymond is just so versatile and can guard every player on the floor and do it efficently. Hes like a shawn marion in terms of the importance, versatility, defense. Hes not as good as Marion obv but he be nice in our system and would immediately get our defense back into the top 15 overall where it was last year...

My comment about Draymond Green may be dumb.... but all that needs to happen is the pieces need to fit if we got draymond to start at the 4 with Keef off the bench our team would be so balanced. It would also be interesting to see the 3 guards with the spacing that we had in 2013-2014 and improved rebounding which would get them out in transition. I dont know its just a thought. But Warriors would be dumb to let him go.
