Re: Trade Ideas Thread
I think the Raptors are a possibility for Bass. I've read that they're looking for PF help, and they've got a slew of expirings and most of their picks to use in trade (only their 2015 second going to ATL is off the table). They have five ending contracts: Amir Johnson ($7 million), Landry Fields ($6.25 million), Chuck Hayes ($5.95 million), Lou Williams ($5.45 million) and Tyler Hansbrough ($3.32 million). I think we could get an expiring guy and a second out of Toronto.

Re: Trade Ideas Thread
Here's another big dice roll: offer expirings/TPE to the Nuggets for Mcgee, Gallinari, and a top 3 protected pick this year, and/or swap rights if the pick's in the top 3.. Gallo's still young, getting healthy, would give us a nice scorer at the small forward while Young develops, who may be a 2 guard anyway. Mcgee's a reclamation project.. You could even take the pick from DEN and use it to move Wallace- so Mcgee becomes the new bad contract, Gallo one of our two big free agent signings. Max a center, roll.

Re: Trade Ideas Thread
Denver's management (not their board) does it to trim major salary and make minutes at the wings. Lawson/Afflalo/Chandler/Faried/Nurkic is a much leaner roster, and it drops their cap to 44 million.

Did you miss the part of that same article that listed like 10 other guys they would target over Bass?

I have really disliked Cousins' attitude in the past, but I must admit that postgame interview suggests he has turned a personal growth corner. Very soul-searching and honest comments. Didn't just "call out" his teammates as the headline suggests. It was all about poor TEAM attitude, and what the TEAM has to do. Very encouraging signs - particularly if he ever ends up on the Cs.

Yeah, I was thinking it was time to try and move on Cousins. Bass, and Thornton as expirings. Zeller as the replacement and even Sully if they want him. Sprinkle in some draft picks and take back Stauskas if they want to ditch him. I think a Cousins/Olynyk front court would have nice offensive potential. (All this works btw.)

Do you really worship the trade ideas that basketball writers are throwing against the wall that much. They're throwing out click bait with no more credibility than people on blogs suggesting trade possibilities. I don't care what they regard as more or less likely. The Raps may be able to get somebody better than Bass, and they may not, but Bass would undoubtedly be a good fit for their team. If the Raps were to get a better player than Bass, they'd likely be giving up more than just the expiring and a second that I suggested, and we don't know what they're willing to give up.
You bringing any better or more likely Bass trade proposals to the table?

Beal's out with a bad toe so maybe Thornton for Andre Miller/K. Seraphin/seconds will happen. Miller has been getting DNPed and Seraphin has a bum ankle. Wiz have been losing like it's their job lately.
I think a few things might be waiting on Ray Allen. The deadline will get teams waiting for him onto one side of the fence or the other.

Looks like a roster spot opens on the 12th when Dawkins' second-10 day deal expires. So that is their week to make something happen.

I'd be all over that deal... but I don't know if OKC would make that deal. Not sure how Bass and Turner would fit in... as they don't really spread the floor.

Re: Trade Ideas Thread
Mirza Teltovic seems like a no-brainer to get salary dumped for tax savings now that he is no longer able to play. Have to figure Boston or Philly will be in on that. Philly's been working on collecting the BRK second rounders looks like.

would have to be Bass, Thornton, 1st (2016 cavs) for Jackson, Perk. A Smart, bradley, Jackson backcort would be strong. ..then this draft we can take WCS.humblebum wrote:Celts17Pride wrote:Bass, Turner, 2nd round pick to OKC for Jackson and Perkins.

Re: Trade Ideas Thread
OK, so rumors of KG possibly being moved. Personally, I think a buyout and a subsequent reunion with Doc in LA is the most likely scenario, but let's entertain the notion of getting in on this somehow.
We absorb KG and his $12m salary with the Rondo TPE.
Not only does Brooklyn get immediate and substantial cap relief, we also create a $12m TPE for them, which could be used to absorb one of our smaller contracts, like Bass. Brooklyn still gets a lot of tax relief, and does right by KG while not impacting their cap situation past this year.
We then have the ability to flip KG to a 3rd team in return for the salary that Brooklyn clearly does not want to take on next year. Like perhaps David Lee, if he came with the Ws 2015 and 2019 1st rounders attached. Ws then duck their major lux tax problem wrt to resigning Draymond Green. Or to any other playoff team out there that could give us some sugar in return for eating a bad contract.

These two teams match up well IMO. Seems like something could be worked out. I like Jackson with Bradley, Smart and Young. Jackson takes it to the hoop more than the other 3.

any chance we sign him to a non-guaranteed deal?...or was he just insurance if traded some guards

My understanding is that two 10-day deals is the limit, then a guy has to be signed for the rest of the season (deals all get fully guaranteed sometime around now).
So they seem to have timed it so that he comes off a week before the deadline. I'd guess that they hold off on any signings until after the deadline in case they need that roster spot for 2-1 deals. Though I suppose they could just resign him straight out if they don't have much trade stuff cooking.
