Ish Smith tweets traded to the Lakers, then deletes it

The tweet could have been deleted because, as it stands, Smith can’t be dealt until Friday, February 6th due to the rule which does not allow a player to be traded until three months after signing a free agent contract. The 6th of this month is the expiry of this restriction for Smith.

Not sure how credible the site is, but this seems interesting. Would almost definitely have to include Jackson, Perkins, and Hill... if it was that trade... but I wonder who else from us?

My personal thought, however, it doesn't really make sense to make a big trade anymore since... we are... apparently... tanking... and also we could sign Jackson in the offseason anyway. So perhaps this could be a minor move instead. Makes you curious. Oh also, I don't know who Ish Smith is. lol.

Kblo thread bruh and hours ago at that

But I'll digress ... The benefit of any Jackson deal with OKC is keeping him and getting his cap hold. You get that cap hold, and a top 1-5 pick, and you to into the summer with enough money to sign Greg Monroe and a SF, maybe not a Tobias or Wes Matthews name value type wing, but certainly pay Middleton with a Lin or Asik type poison pill deal

No way he tweets that without his agent saying its a done deal. I'd expect an announcement either tomorrow or, more likely Friday.

Smith can't be traded to the 6th legally anyhow

I read that it might be fake because the picture of the account isn't verified?

I'm well aware of this. The 6th would be 9pm West Coast time tomorrow (12am East Coast). Nothing is stopping the teams from announcing they have an agreement in principal, also.

Interesting... DEFINITELY could be the case - highly doubtful other sites (Deadspin) wouldn't have a screenshot, also

So an admission that the image wasn't doctored? Not sure if I believe he was hacked or not.

If the Lakers have learned anything over the last three years is to ASSUME nothing in terms of free agents... If we can get Jackson, Smith & Perkins for Hill & the Houston 1st, DO IT... Jackson > 25th pick ALL DAY LONG... It is time to restore Laker Nation one SOLID move at a time...

IDK if I'm stoked on the prospect of trading a 1st round pick to a guy who will be an RFA.

What makes it trickier is the fact that we need to tank. I'm torn here. I think Reggie will be a nice player, and snap out of his funk. Not thrilled about the idea of trading a draft pick for him.

I feel the same way too! I like Jackson...he could def be our PG of the future. I mean, is there any chance of us getting Rondo? Or does the price tag that will come with Rondo scare Mitch and the crew? 'Cause Reggie is a poor man's Rondo, even though he has a ton of potential. But he's a great option...really great. But what does that do for the tank here?

Those 2 first round picks though...I am excited about that, man! But if we gotta give up one for a PG of the future, then so be it.

why would it have to include those other players? Maybe smith is just a small trade OKC needed to make?

Does getting Jackson end the Clarkson experiment?

Are they mutually exclusive? Clarkson is a good back up.

Wait I think this might be a deal for Weezy. They have 2 2nds this year and their 2017 first to trade.
