He's gonna get a max deal but I think Chicago will retain him. I wouldn't be surprised if they try dealing Rose first.
And if we are going to let Dragic go, or trade him (both scenarios entirely possible if the McD/Horny are looking to get younger everywhere and develop their own talent), then I would hope they would go after a position in which we don't already have a depth which is 4 bodies deep (PJ, Mook, Green, Warren). But, by all means, if we trade Mook and Green, then sure, bring in Butler. Does Butler play the 4 at all, or strictly the 3?
Ultimately, with the fact that everyone says the NBA's two deepest positions are PG and PF, how is it we can't get just ONE more decent PF onto the roster (I'm counting Wright as a primarily a C). I would expect that we should be able to find a team that is short on PG depth, but long on PF depth, that we could get some sort of deal done, right? There are plenty of young PFs that are 3rd on the depth chart, yet are talented--why can't we trade for one of those guys, like Payne or Vonleh?
