Well I actually think Rivers is horribly overrated and never really got anywhere until he was gifted the big 3. Thibs generally gets more out of his team then he probably should (but running them into the ground in the process). I don't think basketball is quite like football where it is much more strategy but I think coaches and their schemes are becoming far more impactful than you want to think, at least now a days anyways. If you want to give Randy a free pass for promoting long 2s, inability develop talent and inability manage a game, that is fine...but not everyone wants to be subjugated to this level of incompetence.

Although I suppose the masochist in me is enthralled when Randy waits until leads are completely evaporated and then calling a TO.

Nuposse, You see me as giving Randy a pass while I see you as giving the players a pass by blaming the losses on the coach. I guess at this point we are just talking over each other and neither of us are going to convince the other they are wrong. Have a good night...I'm hitting the sack.

Fair enough, my apologies for insinuating you are thick headed. Let us all agree we want to wake up to a firing of EG [/quote]

That I can agree with! Now, I am really hitting the sack.

Last 6 minutes or so. No movement, no aggression. What in the world was Wall doing? It wasn't the turnovers, but the standing around on the perimeter.

CHA had w/e those plays Randy was calling scoped out pretty well in the last 5 minutes. They couldn't hit anything, though they did get killed on the glass as dandrige correctly pointed out earlier.

I do hope this stirs the pot some.

John Wall said he's just running the plays that are called :nonono:

If Randy loses Wall, its over.

Gortat.. just listen to him.. Sounds like Randy is already lost him.. Dude is beaten down. And we are talking Gortat. One of the most upbeat people on the team.

" Some things just don't work more for me"
" Running for 30 mins and it like I'm invisible "
" I'm trying to adapt "
" Some things don't work for me "

This is coaching. Gortat is a PnR player and they aren't using him that way.

Randy is a defensive assistant like EFJ was an offensive assistant. Coaches like that are 1/2 coaches. There are two parts to the game. Offense and Defense. The good team have coaches they run sound systems for both.

And as some mentioned, coaching is more important as less teams are able to get away with running isolation offenses. Zone scheme and otherwise smothering defenses that rotate well have change the game. And even on of the great iso player ever to play, played best in a triangle offense, not an iso offense.

Look a ATL offense. Then look at ours. Is there anything similar at all ?

Randy's offense is so predictable, other team just jump the lames. That has a lot to do with the turnovers.

Randy will tell you, we turned it over to much. We didnt move the ball and share it.
I would say, its he crap offense to leads to those problems.

our offense is uglier than that blair screen that almost murdered roberts.

something has to be changed because the O is dead. we only look good on the break, which is fine for a top defense but i feel like that has slipped away from us too.

trade/new coach/new plays

just do something. fix this sh*t.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

*Gentry*? I'll take a hard pass on him. He's a retread who's had his chance at the head spot and revealed himself to be a quality assistant -- and not much else.

Gentry did make it to the Western Conference Finals a few years back and with a few breaks could have gone onto the finals. True he didn't show much after that, then again not sure they had that much talent to write home about other than Steve Nash. Anyways, the Wizards need Gentry's help on offense more than they need Jackson's help on defense IMO.

BTW, I'm not sure what game Wittman was watching when he didn't sub out Bradley Beal out earlier. I'm not sure exactly when Beal injured his toe, but with 4 minutes left to go in the quarter, Wittman decided to take out Wall- when Beal had already tweaked his toe. Beal went on to play the rest of the quarter and then finally left the game for good.

You guys killed me last night! Parlayed Wiz/Under/Cavs/Over and would have won $1600. All the other bets covered. WTH happened last night??

You should have talked to the board before the game. Many here would have told you take the Hornets.

Dude, if the Wizards are playing a good defensive team, you gotta take the Wizards opponent.

It's very easy to defend the Wizards. The Wiz shoot long twos with affection and love and opposing defenses will gladly pack it in and make them take that shot. Plus, the offense sucks in general.

He got injured early on in the first and didn't return. Not to mention that we were coming off a back to back and had just lost to the same team earlier in the week at home. Really Hornets +2 was easy money.

Also if Wall says he wants Randy replaced, it will happen overnight. Wall is as valuable to this organization as Lebron is to Cleveland.

Oh, agreed. I'd love to have Gentry as an assistant. And I wasn't lobbying for Jackson; my original post was comparing our desired upgrade to the Warriors transition from Jackson to Kerr. They've been able to retain the defensive mindset instilled by Jackson, while improving their offensive execution thanks to Kerr and his staff. That'd be a great turn of events for us. But, unless Wittman is moonlighting as a pastor and ends up butting heads with Ted on his public theological positions, I don't see any of this happening.
Always remember, my friend: the world will change again. And you may have to come back through everywhere you've been.
