I think it's a good idea to wait until the summer where I think Hennigan will have more options and time to evaluate all his options. Who knows, Borrego could be a good coach. In the news conference I believe someone asked if his coaching philosophy is the same as Vaughn all he said was that he learned a lot from Vaughn as well as other coaches so you never know. Like I said way before Vaughn was fired, you cant assume you'll be getting the same thing from Borrego as you would from Vaughn because each coach has his own philosophy and style. I'm totally fine riding this out with JB as our coach.

Yeah I agree. Take your time finding a new coach and find the best man for the job. Unfortunately what the fans want and what management has decided doesn't always match up.

Just got to hope for the best I guess. If we somehow got Thibs, that would be a godsend. He's pretty much exactly what we're looking for.

the only problem to that i see, is there may be more vacancies in the offseason due to firings and if you really like someone now, they may not be available at the end of the year.

Who says Thibodeau would even take this job? The problem with waiting until summer is that although there would be more coaches available, there would also be more competition for those coaches.

It's hard to know and I wouldn't count on it, which is why I said "somehow". I do know that a lot of coaches see the Magic job as very attractive though. A lot of young talent. Good arena. Nice weather. Nice city. Solid fan base. No income tax. Apparently a lot of coaches see this job similarly to Golden State when Mark Jackson was hired. The pieces are there, so it can make a coach look good.

small correction. There is no state income tax, and only for home games and games vs Miami, Texas teams and Memphis. There is income tax against all other teams. And i wouldnt call the Magic fan base solid, big transplant city that needs to win fans back over again.

Wtf, is that his verified account? He has been tweeting back Orlando fans a few times blatantly asking for a job.

Karl has that coaching itch. We should scratch it.

Don't think we should wait. Just hire Skiles now so he can start the process of building our defense. We will still suck the rest of the year, so we get a high pick and we give him a head start going into next year.

Do you want to give Skiles personnel power? With Tobias on the roster?

A bigger concern. Would Henny give up some control for Karl? Malone? Skiles? That's what exp coaches want.

Thats up to Henny. He is the boss. Skiles job is to build a winning product. He's done it before with mediocre teams.

The picture is the most interesting tweet. He even says that the first isn't a "subtle application for the job" and it's "just an observation from the old coach". The second tweet just says we have a lot of talent. The picture in the huddle could just be him having fun and enjoying seeing people want him to be their team's coach.

I hate hearing SVG talk **** about our team. He's right, but it stings just a little more coming from him.

Wooh... strong words again by Stan. Guess he's still butthurt about it.

"We were trying to get our hands around the inconsistency we were seeing on the floor," Magic general manager Rob Hennigan said at a news conference. "There's a lot of reasons for that. Jacque's not the only reason for that."

Not surprisingly, Van Gundy finds the situation of absurd -- particularly the way organizations bend over backward to not publicly blame a coach, but the coach is the only sacrificial lamb in such instances.

"All those things are the same," Van Gundy said today. "You get in the press conference, they loved Jacque. He did a great job. You listen to all that, and then I listen to Rob say it doesn't fall on Jacque, but he takes full responsibility. I laugh, obviously, because that's not true.

"You're still sitting there with a job, and Jacque doesn't have one, so I don't know what full responsibility means. But I would say they left the full responsibility on Jacque."

Van Gundy also said of the Magic: "They're an organization that turns over coaches a lot. I don't know if anybody coached there longer than I did. There's no such thing as a longtime Magic coach."

Van Gundy's five-year stint is the longest in franchise history, although former Pistons assistant Brian Hill has coached the most games for the Magic, over two stints.

"Being there for his first two years, being there in the town and following them and reading, I thought Jacque gave them everything that they wanted, so I feel bad for him," Van Gundy said.

FWIW, only 1 coach in Detroit's 60+ year history lasted more than 4 seasons, Chuck Daly.

His response is the definition of a "sick burn"
