GOATbrook definitely saw my post before the game .

Obviously awesome game from Russ tonight. He was slumping hard with his shot for most of January. Its not all on him, he has to carry such a huge load with Durant in and out of the lineup.

Its obvious with KD not playing that this team was not built around Westbrook. Ideally a team led by Westbrook has a good pick and roll big and good shooters, the Thunder don't really have either of those. Ibaka is obviously good in the pick and pop but his terrible hands have kept him from ever being able to be a threat in the PnR, and Adams is just inconsistent at this point and doesn't catch the ball well in traffic either.

As for shooters, thats been a huge problem for the Thunder all year. 4 guards in the rotation all under 30% from 3. The spacing is really bad. Teams have just been packing the paint like crazy against them and forcing them to make jumpers. And with Russ's jumper off so much the last few weeks he's been struggling because of it. The Thunder really need to deal Reggie for a shooter before the deadline since the situation with him has gotten pretty obviously bad and it seems like he's checked out.

Agreed sadly, I think Waiters being there killed him for some reason, which sucks bc I think he's better.

I love Westbrook and Durant but I still have a hard time being optimistic about this team.

Serge has regressed, the supporting cast is non-existent some nights, you don't make the Playoffs in the West as a two man team with one of those guys missing more than half the games.

Goat level game. Its so sad how their offense is just two guys there was a point where Brooks ran the same high screen play for a Kd 3 like 4 straight times hes so unoriginal and uncreative its hilarious. Kd was awful tonight theyre not gonna make the playoffs but performances like that dont help he looked like a bench player compared to Russ and Ad tonight

On a less joyous note, Brooks is gone after this season. Whether or not they make the Playoffs.

If they still won 60+ games this year and lost in the WCF, I don't think they'd worry about KD leaving. But missing the freaking Playoffs? I think it's time for them to start worrying. And it starts with finding a coach who can maximize their one year chance of winning a title or at least getting back to true contention next year.

I doubt they fire him. KD likes him, and first year coaches rarely win a title.

He's gone.

KD isn't the kind to talk crap about his team publicly. Getting a better coach is far more important than KD liking an inferior one.

We can hope. I'm looking at draft stuff early, starting to watch some college games...

Russell Westbrook really did Jrue Holiday wonders over the last 3 days. If I was Jrue's agent I would definitely be bringing up the 4 games against the Thunder
