Re: GT: Hornets @ 76ers Sat Feb 7 7:30PM EST
It seems too many people were fooled into thinking players like Roberts and Maxiell are actually good due to a few decent games recently. I'm not surprised by this game at all. I'm also not surprised Cliff is still force feeding Neal minutes. I'm starting to think Neal might have a longer leash than Al at this point.
This game is what it is. Roberts, Maxiell, Neal, Taylor, etc, are all far less talented than the Sixers young core, even if they are more seasoned. Without Kemba, MKG, and Biyombo, we are bad enough to lose to just about any team. The only bothersome thing about this game to me is Clifford. I'm not going to give him too hard a time considering the circumstances. Its not easy trying to piece together a win with what we had. However, there is still no excuse for Neal to be getting minutes. I'm sure most of the things I saw from Cliff tonight that I didn't like won't be issues once we are healthy. I'm still worried that his love for Neal will still be a problem even when we are healthy.

MCW is actually part of the best 5-man defensive unit in the league.

Though, warning, that article may be depressing for you guys.
Not even going to bother with the article. He's just not any good.
That's a pretty mature response. Cheers guys.
Thanks. Take care!

We can win games without Walker and Biyombo, especially Biyombo. MKG goes down and we're screwed.

MCW is all about the popcorn stats, good defender or not

I don't know if MCW is a good defender or not honestly I don't watch that many philly games but I don't trust drtg for individual players. For gods sake by that stat Al jefferson was a better defender than Dwight Howard and Marc Gasol last year. I'm just not buying it.

why is that interesting? hes a very, very late 1st round pick in his rookie season who hasnt been very good when he has played.

I don't like that PJ has fallen completely out of the rotation. He's the only player on our team that don't need 10 feet of space to shoot a 3 and he wasn't playing no worse than Larry Steal. PJ is definitely better for us than Taylor aka the prince of the pump fake.

Taylor wasn't even with the team for 24 games, not to mention coming off a major injury. Clifford was also adamant early in the year: "I'm going to play PJ" even though it meant benching the superior Hendo in the interest of spacing.
Playing behind Hendo isn't particularly surprising, but it's the other guys. PJ has been bad, but Lance and Neal have been worse, and JT has been irrelevant.

I guess only MKG understood the importance of staying attached to Covington/Thompson, because after he got injured the entire team defense just collapsed

So, Jeff Taylor has supplanted P.J. Hairston in the rotation. I would like to know how that came about. Neither player is anything significant, but at least Hairston can move the needle a bit with his 3-point shooting
Also, just recognized that Roberts played 34 minutes and had zero assist on top of a poor shooting performance. As some of you may have wanted to poke your chest out about Roberts being a justifiable signing over the past few wins, I feel like we've won in spite of him solely because he limited his mistakes with low turnovers

Yep, that's exactly what the problem was. Covington and Thompson killed us.

Taylor played very well in the few minutes he got, so I'm not going to act like PJ would have done better in those minutes. It shocked the hell out of me when he checked in, but it looked like a great move based on his play. If anything I thought he should have closed out the game.
I'd be more annoyed with Roberts's lack of assists if he was hoarding the ball or doing something different from what we ask him to do. Hendo does everything off the dribble, Al takes time to get set off the block and didn't really facilitate assists and Lance, Neal and Cody couldn't score at all. Not sure where the assists were supposed to come from.

Re: GT: Hornets @ 76ers Sat Feb 7 7:30PM EST
We folded once MKG went down, Taylor played well showing his offensive abilities and very good defense. I hope he can step up and play well for us, this will however, only resort in him being the guy to cut into MKG's minutes keeping him relegated to 25 per game.
We should maybe start Taylor at SF, use Hairston as his backup, and maybe even start Lance at the point as a way to showcase him for a trade, cause he doesnt fit with our offense. If Vonleh is 3 years from being ready Id trade him too. We have so many bigs and wing players that we have a hard time getting minutes foe them and they all are quality trade chips if packaged.

He's not a superstar by any stretch but he's 100 times better than Tim Frazier. Again, big fish in the Sixers talent pond, but he makes them waaaaayyyyy better.
