"Regardless of who they are, the other two players on the floor are normally weak defensive players. With three point guards, the other two players have to guard up a level -- meaning a two on a three, three on a four and four on a five. Those players struggle in a traditional sense, let alone in handling a bad matchup.

There's also a bigger problem with the three points that no one is willing to say: none of them are point guards. Out of the three, the best point guard is Goran Dragic. Isaiah Thomas is a bench point guard. Eric Bledsoe is a two.

Goran is a natural two who understands the responsibility to create for others when he plays the point. A scoring point guard like Thomas is acceptable off the bench -- because a scoring point guard is often the best scorer off the bench -- but he's terribly over-matched as a starter.

Bledsoe is something different entirely. If Eric Bledsoe doesn't change, he will be a dream come true to those who think they understand the game of basketball. .....

Eric Bledsoe is a turnover machine who creates for himself. There's very little benefit to playing with him as a teammate because the defense always knows he'll shoot."

All said and done, the Suns HAVE to make a trade. Standing pat is not smart at all and ultimately will make this team worse. Until Tucker, IT, and Bledsoe are gone this team isn't going to get any better unless some superstar gets here!

I'm never going to change my stance. Those three are hurting this team more than helping.

That's a great article actually.

I wouldn't count on it. I believe that was the first double-double of his career.

Agreed. Too many times I've said: if _____ can keep up with his ____, he'll he a _____by next year.

Rarely does it happen and almost never does when it's based on one game.

Great article and I thought this line was the best part:

Going through the rest of the roster, P.J. Tucker is the closest thing to a defensive stopper -- and that's compared to his teammates, not other players in the league.

We do also have the option of just letting Goran & Gerald both expire and not resign giving us some nice cap space which is always an asset. I see Greens production as being completely replaceable by Warren next year just on a cheaper contract. Losing Dragic would hurt more but we would avoid the huge deal he's going to want this summer. Food for thought.

Letting Goran walk would be unacceptable. You don't lose a top-25 player for nothing.

As for Green just gaining the cap space is enough...

I wouldn't want to lose a top 50 player for nothing which is about where I'd put good Goran. Bad Goran isn't top 100.

That is true for all but 10 or so players in the league. I'm completely against giving Dragic the max but his efficiency alone keeps him in the top-25 conversation.

Probably one of few NBA players who are eye level with Mayweather.

Not that I'm the biggest Bledsoe fan but can you guess the other 4 guys averaging at minimum 17ppg, 6apg, 5rpg?

It's LBJ, Russ, Harden, and Tyreke. Not bad company.

All those guys can shoot the ball but Bledsoe jump shot is just simply awful. Hornacek needs to help him with his shooting just like he did with Wesley Matthews.

You make a fair point that Bledsoe doesn't really have the best midrange jumper....so if Hornacek CAN improve it......wow. If he can surpass even a couple of those guys...

No, Tyreke Evans is the worst shooter of all of them by far.

Be nice if he actually used all that money he flaunts on something good instead being a horrible human being. There are plenty of disabled vets, homeless, and other good causes that could use one half of 1/3 of one of those stacks of money.
I am such a lucky NBA fan. 8647 My favorite team went from the most greedy and racist owner to the most ego driven dumbass owner in all of sports fdt.

Are you serious? Westbrook is a terrible shooter. He's shooting less than 30% from three!
Tyreke also has a terrible jumper.
The fact that Bledsoe's can average 17 PPG with slightly less than 13 shots per game is ridiculously efficient. I will agree though that Bledsoe needs to work on his jumper still, but it isn't as awful as those two guys. Plus, I think Bled's shot mechanics just needs to be slightly adjusted but it can definitely improve.
